I'm kind of shocked at the lack of excitement for the jungle. The SP especially looks very well done! Baddies with flashlights, bugs, decent variety and some stealth usage as well as using some environment such as plants to take out enemies. I just hope it is quite a lengthy time spent in the jungle I felt there wasn't enough jungle/swamp time in Uncharted 2.

Well, as for Uncharted 2, the amount of time you spend in the jungle is I guess fair, but I have to agree with you and Shin-Ra. The jungle setting is new for Killzone, and I have to say that GG did a great job on envisioning what a Helghan jungle would look like.

I actually haven't seen the single player stuff, so my criticism is reserved solely on what I saw of multiplayer.

eh, shin-ra, you never take criticism well I am completely aware of having your set pieces fit into the overall scheme of the game. I just don't like what I've seen so far.

I've really only focused on the SP so far on the Jungle. Here it is again (jungle starts at 15 seconds or so..):

gotcha, thanks Actually, after watching this (single-player), I am a little more sold on the what they're going for. Still, not my cup of tea though. Give me the jungles from the original Killzone (I realize they weren't on Helghan, but they were similarly "dirty") over these any day of the week.

Just watched KZ1 on youtube, that does look pretty sweet (very different), I like both. I never played KZ1, wish they'd remake it with the KZ3 engine as it looks to have some cool level designs.

I picked it up last summer. It was very good I though. I just didn't care for FPS games in the PS2 days. Alwasy had a high end PC for those.

It would be cool to see the original Killzone remade with the KZ3 engine (although the chances of that happening are pretty much zero). I thought the original Killzone was way underrated (probably because the hype for it was exorbitant). It was a pretty solid game overall and the off-line multiplayer was very fun as well.

I can't wait for this game.

I really want the Helghast Edition though - shame it's so expensive.

Herman Hulst standing Cas'!

Spanning more than 70 minutes of cutscene footage, the Killzone 3 single player campaign boasts a breathtaking storyline brought to life by some of Hollywood’s finest talents. In this sneak peek at the Killzone 3: Behind The Scenes featurette, which is part of the Killzone 3 Helghast Edition extras, Guerrilla reveals how real-life actors were transformed into virtual characters.

Using state-of-the-art motion capture techniques, the actors’ performances were captured using reflective tracking markers worn on the face and body. Many of the props and characters they were acting off only existed inside the computer, however.

Actor Ray Winstone (Admiral Orlock), who cut his teeth on full-body performance capture in the 2007 movie adaptation of Beowulf, was undaunted by that prospect. ”It’s like going back to school in a way,” he said. “You play the scene, and you start to get your imagination back, you know?”

Co-star Malcolm McDowell (Chairman Stahl), whose video game appearances stretch back to the early nineties, was quite satisfied with the technology. “When I’m 85, I can be doing video games, because they can put a young man’s face over mine,” he joked. “And as long as I don’t do a gravelly voice, I’ll be alright!”

The full Behind The Scenes featurette is an exclusive part of the Killzone 3 Helghast Edition extras. Pre-order your copy today!

It should be big because the game and artbook come packaged inside

Edit; this gives a good idea of the size

to be honest, I think the helmet looks a bit tacky as a piece of memorabilia (but, to each his own). Now, the sniper figurine? Awesome
