I don't get it. I bid on this listing just before going into a movie today and I got a notification towards the end of the movie saying I was outbid. I looked at the price as the end credits began to roll and it said it was at $243.54 so I didn't bid again and cursed the morons who drove it up that high. Then it ended two minutes later and it says it went for $152, a few dollars over what I bid. What gives??!!

EDIT: I see what happened. Bid retraction took place. That seems fishy to me.

That sucks dude. It happened to me quite a few years ago on a complete set of laserdiscs of Urotsukidoji (yes, laserdiscs). I think you should try Big Bad Toy Store and stop torturing yourself. I know you have been searching for a good deal online for Maleficent but maybe its time to just bite the bullet and order it.

I posted this in the VENT your anger thread, and someone said it may be a scam. I just called eBay customer service and they are looking into it. If you look at the bid history, it would seem one person with two buying accounts bid from both at the same time, one reasonable and the other super high, and retracted the latter within seconds of the listing ending.

I'm trying not to pay more than $200 for this one, so I'm nowhere near to the point of torturing myself, lol. But I may try BBTS soon.

how can you retract your bid so close to the end of the auction. from my experience you gotta retract 12 hours from the end, if you try do it under 12 hours it wont let u?!!?!

thats how its always worked for me.

That's what I thought, too. I've only ever retracted ONE bid in the 16 years I've been on eBay...

Just found this:

Quote:
"How to retract a bid"
If there are 12 or more hours remaining on an auction, you may be able to retract your bid in the following situations:

--You made a mistake when you placed your bid, such as entering $50 instead of $5
--The item description changed significantly after you placed your bid
--You're unable to contact the seller

If you want to retract your bid for any other reason or there’s less than 12 hours remaining on an auction, you’ll need to contact the seller to ask if you can retract your bid. The seller must cancel the bid on your behalf.
The bolded area I find completely out of the question with so little time left. Makes me wonder if I should report the seller. This sounds like a collaborative effort. I know I'm not going to magically get the item from this listing, but someone should be banned for this.

its obvious then. the seller has multiple accounts or got a friend to bid then just retracted it at the last minute

this has happened to me so many times over the years and i never knew how they did it

eBay asked if I wanted to report the seller, and I said no, only the two buyer accounts. I think I should call back and say that I want to report the seller. But looking at their policy, I feel that if they do an adequate job (which I know they do) in looking at the timeline, they will see that the seller may have been involved.

Good choices! Rey & BB-8 should be a no brainer for every Star Wars fan. I think I'm just going to stick with my TDW Thor, I don't see a reason to upgrade.

This will all come with the single and two pack with BB-8.

Fantastic upgrades! You almost need two Reys to display her with and without her mask on.

That's great news about the added accessories.

I'm hoping to recreate this image with both figures:

We have a few authorized Hot Toys sellers in the Netherlands, we pay around 230-250 euro for a new release, wich is pretty close to US price I believe?

that would be awesome...

You would need a nice backdrop for the scene and good lighting.

Can't freaking wait for her. My body is ready! Btw, I think you can freely post these pics now. If people haven't seen the movie by now they simply don't care. Plus my pic has her holding the saber. Lol

[Show spoiler]

Detail is amazing, but I feel he resembles Brad Pitt more than Chris Hemsworth.

Elbows have no visible joints. The instruction sheet warns about not keeping them bent for too long or it can cause paint fading. Not sure I'm a fan of this. The veins look real and the rubber is very life-like in tone, too. All joints are tight except his ankles. But that's what the stand is for, right?

More pics to follow once I get him posed the way I want. So excited to add him next to Tony Stark and Captain America!
