Any level up will give ya a better chance against a hunter. It's not that hard to farm echoes, boring yes, but not hard & it does pay off.

Just beat the Layer 2 boss in Lower Hintertomb. (2 hunters) The second one freaked me out & I thought a third one was gonna pop out but didn't.

Leveled up, and took out the Hunter. Got nervous about Rom. Fought him, and beat him in one go. That was... Unexpected.

I'll prob call it quits when I finish the 2 Sinister Dungeons I got left. That's when I'll feel I have completed this game in full. There ain't a 5th Sinister I'm aware of. Got the Root Chalice finally, it's just multiplayer.. Didn't know.

So just Sinister Hintertomb & Sinister Isz, then wait for DLC.

Not sure what MP stands for but I believe the Root dungeons are randomized. Each time they won't be the same like the normal non-root dungeons.

Unlocked Nightmare frontier and Cainhurst. Which one should I go for first? Taking a break from the main story to explore and lore hunt. I'm enjoying the game much more now! Found a couple secret areas too.

I would go Cainhurst. Too much crap like frenzy & poison in Nightmare Frontier. It's not a nice place to explore.

uh.. I am such an idiot. Removed Isz (first one) then find out I need it to get to buy Sinister Isz. Am gonna try & speed run it. Apparently some where in Layer 3 there is a messenger.

Oh & Isz Root, Wow, Amygdala was not happy to see me again. Not much space to fight in there either. Best drop in Root Isz was "Great Deep Sea" Rune "Add all types of RES +150"

Got a lot done. Finished the Martyr Logarious off. That went well! Have to face Eileen in the chapel. She was wrecking me. I can do good damage to her, and nearly had her a few times. Just messed up some dodges. Time for bed. Way to tired to be precise!

I hadn't fought Eileen yet because I never threatened her. She should be the toughest hunter in the game.

She's weak to bolt. She has pretty low defense, so if you hit her, you'll drain her health pretty fast. Just make sure she doesn't hit you. She has a three hit combo, which you can love through, then she has a four hit one... You won't live through that. She's usually pretty easy to dodge. She telegraphs her moves. However, you need to really pay attention. It's not a bad fight either, because you have plenty of room to navigate. Her projectiles are also slow and easy to evade. She doesn't heal either. It's just an endurance fight.

Basically, if you meet her once, but don't fulfill all of her quest line, she'll hunt you at the grand Cathedral. I didn't know one of her quest lines, and missed out. I'm considering grinding out another couple levels before taking her on again. My Threaded Cane is level 9, so I can't really do much with that.

On a related note, those big eye brain things that "sing" are the hardest creature in the game. Frenzy just sucks and if they get a hold of you, death.

So, just not getting dungeon drops - far into NG+ and still can't find enough drops for a level 3 Chalice. Should I redo level 1 and 2 for drops?

Its like the game doesn't want me to bother with the dungeon stuff

For comparison's sake, Dark Souls 2 had -shipped- 1.2m units in 3 weeks on PS3 + 360.

I'm happy for the game's success. I still think it's a tough bastard at times, but it is also an amazing game well worthy to be a GOTY contender imo.
