Lol. Don’t drink coke. Don’t eat meat. Don’t smoke. Don’t watch adult content (unless you want your credit card details to be exposed to hackers) they now want control of the internet imo.

This is not a huge leap.

It’s not madness. Nothing about my post is madness. You guys have Trump, anything is possible in both our countries. In my opinion, that guy would ban tv and gaming before he would ban guns.
I don't think you know much about our President. He watches more TV than anyone on this board. So that would be a huge NO to any technology tax or ban.

If they ever taxed brain farting, you'd be bankrupt in a single day.

I'll keep this short; there is nothing realistic in that post or in your predictions in general. Not a single solitary line of it is anything but lunacy or trolling. I am far, far from alone in telling you so.

Invoking the name of the current occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is irrelevant and does not in any way support your comments. This website explicitly forbids giving opinions about politicians, so discussing that part of your post would be ill advised.

Ok, let’s just say the U.K. for now then? Still lunacy?

The point is, politicians can and will impose such bans and taxes if it suits them.

I am sitting in my nice comfy chair now sipping a Coke and no one is about to make me stop. I'll have whatever I please for lunch, too.

"They" want to know what websites you visit on the world wide web so that "they" can market stuff to you. There are many ways to thwart such efforts if you want to browse in secret. Why, you can use the internet to find out how!

Any time that you use your credit card there is a small risk that it will be compromised. Thankfully, credit cards come with very robust anti-fraud protections.

Yes, it still is.

Even though I do not live in the U.K. (would love to visit, though) I have complete confidence that you worry needlessly and without any basis in reality.

The point that eludes you is that politicians can be removed from office if they piss off the electorate. Their actions have consequences.

Did you know that the U.S and the U.K both want to ban tobacco altogether by 2040.?

Who is to say, there next target won’t be tv and computers? It only takes a health report about diabetes, cancer and heart disease. Add persistent campaigners and politicians to the mix and........

Without a citation, I do not believe that any government entity is planning to ban tobacco consumption. Some states here have effectively legalized marijuana and the federal government has for the most part not intervened. It is anther source of tax revenue for the states that legalized it.

I suspect that "they" want people to voluntarily stop using tobacco for the obvious health benefits, and healthcare cost savings, that would come with such a choice. We have many banned substances already; bans do not stop consumption. You underestimate the influence of the tobacco lobby, too.

Who is to say that TVs and computers aren't also targets for banning? Sane people everywhere, that's who. No one would stand for it.

I guess that would mean no more riding mowers in your dark future, either? The number of activities that people do while seated is vast and none of them are going to be restricted in any way.

Now, I am going to keep sipping that Coke with my arse firmly planted in my chair and play a video game for awhile on my computer. I must gain at least 10 levels per day before the game season ends.

I've locked the door in case the screen time police try to barge in.

In order for something to be banned the majority of Parliament would have to vote to ban it. If something as popular as TV was banned then the citizens would be outraged and all of the members of Parliament that banned it would quickly be voted out of office. New members of Parliament would be elected and they would vote to overturn the ban imposed by the previous administration.

Neither of our countries have totalitarian governments. Politicians can't do whatever they want, their actions have consequences.

Nobody is going to ban you from Streaming, and you can start at any time but without the right set up and Bandwidth you will experience very poor Streaming. If you believe all the hype and misinformation, your Streaming experience will be terrible. Then depending on your restrictions, you will never experience good Streaming and probably give it up all together. I think the best route for a person that prefers Discs is to get a good UHD TV, then an UHD Player that has good Streaming Apps like Panasonic or Sony. With these set up properly you can experience good Streaming.

Let's look at two types of people and three possible scenarios:

Sampson buys all of his movies and TV shows on Vudu.
Laci buys all of her movies and TV shows on physical media.

Scenario A: Nothing is ever removed or modified from Vudu.
Scenario B: Some titles get taken off of Vudu or are modified.
Scenario C: Vudu is shutdown and everyone loses their digital collections.

In Scenario A Sampson and Laci both have access to all of their movies and TV shows.
In Scenario B Sampson loses some of his movies and TV shows. Laci continues to have access to all of her movies and TV shows.
In Scenario C Sampson loses all of his movies and TV shows. Laci continues to have access to all of her movies and TV shows.

The best option is to have the capability of both a 4K disc player and 4K streaming. 4K disc players are very affordable; you should get one yourself and update that aging blu-ray player of yours. You could also finally view a 4K disc, or two, and then proceed to tell us that you can see no difference between it and a 4K stream . At least your opinion would then be based upon actual observation.

With a 4K disc player you will be able to compare them at long last. If you are like many people, the choice will be to enjoy both in some ratio of the two.

Begins? It has been under way for awhile now.

I have Song Of The South, so the mouse can go take a flying leap. I also own Dumbo, the original one, so F the mouse again.

I hate the revisionist sanitizing of any art form. They can't mutilate my discs with this snowflake sensitivity shyte.

On VHS?

I watched Song of the South on youtube awhile back. What a waste of time.
