Congrats Steve on the deal for the SR7008. So your dealer is letting you take it right away and then pay it off over time? Nice!

Rhett's dealer lets him make payments, I make payments to him also.... however since we are 2300 miles apart, I make them in advance... the local guy knows Im not going anywhere.

Hey Steve,

Was thinking about the subwoofer distance we were discussing last night. Don't think you need to bother adjusting the distance, you should be able to achieve the same result with the phase on your sub and an spl meter. You might need some external test tones, the ones generated by your avr will not have any of the Aud filters applied where as if you use some external test tones, eg Disney Wow disc or any other calibration disc you can have the Aud filters applied when playing the test tones. I downloaded some tones from the Realtraps sight some time ago, you might be able to use those, it's the best price of all too, FREE!! I just get stuck on the distance method as my sub doesn't have a phase knob and I must use the distance tweak. Using the phase and spl meter should be much easier, just remember to check after you run Aud some time.

I hope you get some good time in with your new Marantz this weekend.

With the 7007 you can stream Spotify wireless from your phone. I need something, Apple TV maybe, so I can do that to the XEOs.

Truly if you would have known you could just stream from your laptop via wireless to the Oppo, would you have kept the XS and dac instead of buying the Uniti?

I was a bit surprised to see you do that move to be honest I had put some taught into getting a uniti system before but honestly I don't need it, A lot of people pass to a NAS device which you probably have no idea how to use, I think Sean uses that or at least used one.

If you are using windows you can send the music like this as long as your oppo is connected to your wireless network. You need a good signal strength.

I thought you had a write up for it. My mini is connected to my DAC so I don't really need it.

No Actually prepared this little procedure in house. I use an external Hardrive most time but when I am sitting in my office I like to built a playlist and play it to my system, I might get something to connect the Dyns in my Office through wireless, that way I can listen to the Dyns in the office from my PC going through my Oppo.

Endless possibilities, this is why I like this 103 so much I don't need an all in one player I can just get An nice Pure Class A Integrated.

WOW... you have a low opinion of me....

I love the XS, its a great unit, its been miles above the 5i. But talking with Rhett, Tyler, Bud, and the brief experience that I had with the original Uniti, I feel that the Uniti 2 will be a significant upgrade over the XS-Jolida combo. I had the option to upgrade either the Amp to the DAC, with the Uniti 2 I will get to upgrade both at the same time. The IA portion is based on the NAP200 with a larger power supply then the XS, Preamp based on the Supernait, DAC from the CD5 XS... these will be great upgrades over the XS-2 and the Jolida. Plus I add the many other functions that the Uniti 2 provides.

Yea, I know how to use a NAS. It is something that Ill be looking into down the road. 4 TBs is probably the one that I would go with, connect it to the UPNP input and then move all the music on my laptop over to it. The other thing I was thinking about is the Apple AirPort Time Cap, its 3TB of storage and you can back up via wifi, and it will boost the wifi signal of your current network.... makes it easy with my all Apple setup to connect it all.

The nice thing is theres an app that I already have for the Naim Uniti 2 on my iPhone that can control everything on the uniti. Theres a lot of benefits to the Naim Uniti 2.

there is an app for the oppo too btw

Ok if the uniti benefit from all the upgrades dac and amp and PSU section then it makes a lot of sense to go that route.
