Had an odd occurrence with my sister's family that's kinda got me a bit preoccupied/perplexed. We were basically entirely left out of my niece's 12th birthday get together/dinner last night despite being available and it was kind of just glossed over. I reached out to her earlier by phone and she said she's subbing at school today and will call me back later so we'll see. What made it odd is that my Mom made it a point to tell us she would be there and never asked if we were going which is VERY unlike her as she's extremely inclusive of everyone all the time.

Sounds like a family meeting if you guys are usually pretty tight-knit

Not that serious, but yeah, something's definitely up. We'll see what my sister says if/when she calls me back later.

It's just been one of those stretches where I've been clogged up with allergies and not getting a lot of good sleep so I've just been "off" for like two weeks now so that might also figure into things as well.

It's my understanding that discussing politics is a no-no. Not trying to be a jerk, just wondering about fair & equal treatment, that's all.

It's just that I was warned about it in bright red lettering, which on the mood color scale, seems to indicate the mood of anger. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but the topic of liberals, conservatives, voter ID laws & voting in general is about as political as it gets, correct? Just sayin'
