I think it will be well done, that's for sure. I have two concerns tho. That they may try too hard in honoring the OT nostalgia, thereby cheapening the new story. Also I don't like some of the rumors I've read.

This is the first time I've heard of them being clones as justification for CG troopers.

What will you guys come up with next.

That video put out at the con was fantastic. This is definitely the Star Wars movie we've been waiting for.

Who else think Starkiller is not just a base, but a new Death Star type super weapon.

Pretty much everything SW related that's been put out by Disney/Lucasfilm over the past year has been top notch and has made me a fan all over again.

So if the new film is being overseen by the same group of people who've been making sure all the other new material is the best it can be, then I'm also confident the new movies will be awesome and kick all kinds of ass!

She definitely sounds like her. Her accent and voice are very similar to Keira's. I wonder if they are from the same part of London?

And yeah, she does look like her at least a bit when she smiles. I can see that.

Yes, same body type as well, just more buffed up for this film.

It's like how if you took Kathleen Kennedy and stretched her a bit to make her taller, she looks like Kathryn Bigelow.

I don't know what it is but I like the nod to Luke's first draft last name.

I saw STAR WARS on release and was mad for it until somewhere between EMPIRE and RETURN when my hormones suddenly told me there were matters more urgently requiring my focus. I've had only a mild interest since, which is why I could never really work up any great outrage about the pointless prequels.

But I have to say... I'm starting to look forward to this. The footage so far really does seem to capture that indefinable something that the first films had. It may just be the rather masterful marketing (compare it to the FF campaign!) but this all feels really good so far.

You can do twins and triplets on screen without having to build them from the ground up in CGI, replicating and army or a single person is an old trick made seamless using CGI, there was no need for animating them from the ground up for every single scene.

I'm not against the use of CGI doubles but using CGI for things that could have been done better without it's plain silly.

You know what the crazy thing is for me re: the Clone Troopers? When they're in full uniform head-to-toe I think they look great, even in Clones, but as soon as they start pasting Tem Morrison's head onto an all-CG body (which may not have even been mocapped) it falls apart, some of those shots in Sith are scandalously lame.

Having watched Man of Steel again yesterday I reiterate my point about the prequels probably looking better if they were made today, as the all-CG Kryptonian armour & capes look really good with the real heads pasted on, not perfect but plenty good enough to pass muster.

I can't remember if it's true or not, but wasn't there some idea that the clones were all CGI because George was making some kind of statement? Some arty-farty stuff about artificiality and the like. It seemed odd not to have at least a few real ones. They didn't even make reference suits as far as I know.

I don't think that's crazy at all, once you put an actual actor's head on a CGI body there's suddenly a pretty jarring contrast there so I can understand feeling that way.

Personally I'm alright with the CG Clone Troopers, they get the job done well enough but I would definitely have preferred they be done the old school way, and I'm happy they've gone back to that for the new movies.

I applaud Abrams for going back to using practical effects and actual costumes instead of what Lucas did in the prequels where it was 95% CGI.

As long as everything is integrated correctly and certain elements don't stick out, I don't care what the percentage is of practical/c.g.i. effects.

Filming a guy in a helmet will always look like a guy wearing a helmet. Drawing a CG helmet over someone's face will usually look unreal somehow. I think George Lucas just hates working with actors and for the prequels he preferred to just copy and paste troopers into his shots.

That said, the special effects aren't the biggest concern with the prequels.
