The first and main negative response also implies that Criterion would convert a PAL source for a Chaplin film, which is utter nonsense. As another poster says, the run time listed on the Criterion site apparently matches that of the uncut Image Entertainment DVD, so I highly doubt this will be the cut version.

For those that missed/didn't get enough from the B&N sale. Deep Discount has 45% off CC blus and dvds.

May get the Von Sternberg set if that gets added to the sale next week.

Not 2 clear cases. Just a 2-disc case. But it might just be a joke from that poster.

Check out Hammett if you can. At least if you like detective fiction/film noir. The Goalie's Anxiety at the Penalty Kick is one of his early good ones. Kings of the Road too, supposedly. Haven't seen the latter.

Oh man, how can you watch Room 666? I have been wanting to watch that for a long time. Godard, Herzog and Paul Morrissey is in it too. I want to watch it. Prob the only place you will find Paul Morrissey and Spielberg.

Netflix has it?

Speaking of Paul Morrissey/Warhol, please Criterion, talk the Warhol Foundation into a Criterion Chelsea Girls. That would be........AWESOME!

Unbelievable, how is it that you guys have never heard of PBR? That was the number one beer at U of O in the ninties, my guess is that the cheap swill still is. Awful beer, but dirt cheap

It sounds like a regional beer that's mainly in the northeast. I've lived in the south my whole life. And what is U of O?

So I'm thinking Fox is definitely willing to work with Criterion at this point.
"Bigger Than Life" was also a Fox title. Not sure of any others...

Probably the most popular beer in Phoenix, so not a regional northeast thing. Also pretty popular when I perform in Austin, New York, Detroit and Chicago.

Thanks for the good suggestions...unfortunately, the latter films you mentioned are not even listed on NetFlix and Hammett only comes up as "saved" and not available.

Too bad on Hammett...sounds like a good film.

nice order Beta.
you seem to be like me with jumping on any good bargain for Criterion.
I just can't do $30 to $35 a title.
as for the wait, yeah it's a pain, but I can deal with it.
I actually ended up with a free copy of "Steamboat Bill jr." because I never got my free shipping copy, and I called and they sent me out another copy.
sure enough it came a few weeks later.
so it can actually be a good thing.
I am very worried about Fall--it may break me.

I went ahead and ordered the only two Criterion Blu's I don't have - Black Orpheus and Crumb. I HATE doing business with DD but the price is much lower than anyone else at the moment and I'm really not in a big hurry for these two.
