I've only purchased from Dave once before this recent BF order, and I couldn't remember if that first order showed up in a box or padded envelope, so I asked him if it'd be possible to ship my stuff in a box since my local distribution center gets pretty wild with packages during the holdays. Well, the order arrived today, in a box, with a bunch of bubble wrap around it, and despite the box taking a thump on one corner, everything is in immaculate condition. I don't know if this is how he usually ships things but it was easily up there with OrbitDVD/DiabolikDVD/GHV level packaging. Needless to say, I am quite happy.

Anyway, here's what I got. I've watched Hard Rock Nightmare before and really enjoyed it, and the other 3 are blind-buys.

Ordered another copy of Final Exam 4k for my film library. Great detail on the transfer, and the color palette looks excellent on the mastering. Definitely been enjoying it, along with Dead Pit 4k. I agree with Demon that these are two of DF's best offerings to date, and provide terrific upgrades over the existing older blu rays in both cases.

Bring on Death Ship 4k uhd!!! That's another flick with some great primaries, and can look stunning on 4k. But please be sure to do some damage clean-up on the transfer, Dave. It's a very worthwhile effort to get rid of some of those hundreds of instances of little white specs and flecks and scratches, and would've benefitted Final Exam 4k quite a bit.

English subtitles and some decent damage repair, please, Demon!!!!

I'm assuming no HDR?

Nope we do HDR on all the 4K releases now. It looks too good not to. Regarding the damage repair for specs, dirt and other little marks it can come pose somev other issues. The process to repair the damage can create other flaws to the image which may negate its benefit. Most of the time when we are using original negative elements that kind of damage is minimal and not worth fixing but in some cases we will get forced into addressing it.

Demon Dave, please consider doing "Teenage Hitchhikers" on 4k UHD in the future. It's one of my favorite Dark Force blu rays!

Yo Dave, which cut of Death Ship (1980) will Dark Force's upcoming 4K UHD have?
If my memory serves me correctly, there's a shorter version (found on the original Scorpion Releasing Blu-ray) and a longer version (on Scorpion's "Remastered" edition).

If I remember correctly, there was just a shower scene with some nudity and lots of gore with blood coming out of the shower-head and filling the shower stall, which was cut for the tv edition, but included as an extra on the one blu ray release. Were there other cuts made, to an even shorter version?

If my memory is correct, I wonder whether the camera negative DF has access to contains the full, unedited "bloody shower scene", and matching portion of the audio track for that scene....

I have the Umbrella disk, and it is the longer version.
