Never say never. Enough lose in front of them and up they go. They did beat a SEC western division team. Forget about their losses to awful USC and horrible UF. They beat AU for goodness sake. Hell it could be Bama, Miss St., UGA and FSU in the top 4. FSU wins and drops again. Arkansas will be ranked next week at 21 ahead of LSU at 22.

SEC West showed how great they are today. Both teams that played against the SEC East lost (including one against the unranked SEC East leader). The middle of the pack team lost to the absolute bottom of the barrel team.

Legit question.... should Mississippi State stay in the Top 4? Their key wins this year: #8 LSU, #6 Texas A&M, #2 Auburn. Do any of those wins look good right now?

LSU and Auburn have to be considered quality. A&M not so much.

Why does LSU have to be considered quality? They got shut out by the worst team in the SEC. A team that had lost 17 straight SEC games.

They also beat Wisconsin and Ole Miss. That loss today was brutal though.

Yuck, Noles survive again just barely. Though it's obvious this team isn't anywhere close to as good as last year's team that blew out almost every opponent except Auburn. Barring a big upset they'll be in the playoff, but I can't see them winning two playoff games against quality opponents. Heck, with Clemson and Notre Dame losing this week they'll have beaten no teams ranked in the top-20 all year come Sunday.

At the moment I'd say the top 4 in order are FSU, Oregon, Alabama, TCU. But if Mississippi St. wins their last two games I think there's a very good chance they'd edge out TCU for that last spot. Mississippi St. still has to play @ Ole Miss, which is another quality win while TCU doesn't play another quality team. Baylor may also be in the mix, but that ugly 14 point loss to West Virginia probably hurts their chances greatly.

Then again this playoff committee loaded with people of questionable background (Condaleeza Rica ) for determining who makes the playoff really scares me. They already have TCU ranked ahead of Bama and Oregon above FSU. Who knows how they make their decisions. I'd rather the old BCS format determine the top-4 teams than a bunch of people in a smoke filled room.

As long as FSU wins out, they HAVE to make the playoffs. The entire system will get immediately tossed out the window if they leave out the undefeated, defending champions. Heck, saying that any undefeated team for a Power 5 conference isn't a top 4 team would be ridiculous unless there are 3 or 4 undefeated teams and a 1-loss team whose only loss was to an undefeated.

I was rooting for all the SEC teams to get 2 losses. If Alabama lost last week (which they should have) then it might have happened, but I don't think they'll get a 2nd loss. I still think the committee would put the SEC champion in.

It would be ridiculous if Florida State didn't get in. I don't like them, but I think they should be the #1 seed. They are the undefeated defending champions who always find ways to win. They were down 21-3 in the championship game last year and won, comebacks are what they do.

I'm curious to see where Baylor ends up, a few analysts have them at #4 now and they didn't even play this weekend. So now teams are being rewarded for a bye week?

Hell no they shouldn't! Them being underdogs going into the game says it all. The supposed #1 in the country was not favored by Vegas to win. They were never the real #1 team. Their key wins all suck! If they beat Ole Mi$$ it will be without their best player on offense. They are just another team hyped by ESPN to promote their conference. This playoff is a sham just like the BCS. I've seen where some have TCU out(won) and Miss St in(lost). That says it all. It's rigged. Give me 8-16 teams or it isn't real. There is not 4 best teams in the country. There are 10 or so that are the same team. No dominate team. How can you pick 4 out of the top 10? Rant over.
