Does anyone have the official Night of the Creeps cover, I need some info from the back to put on my custom and I can't find it online large enough to read what's on it.

my cover of "Heat". Can't do better. I'm fed up of seeing the same old cover(Pacino Derniro, Val Kimer's faces):

The dvd/blu-ray cover is the same as the theatrical one sheet, although they used a different shade of blue form the foreign market.

Default question, sorry, and thank you

Is there a good threat about how to get started creating blu-ray covers? I would like to start messing around with it, but I'm not exactly sure where to start. I have experience with photoshop, but I haven't used it for a while. Anybody nudge me in the right direction?

Also I'm sorry for over requesting the PS3 netflix streaming cover earlier. I just jumped on this board and started requesting away, again sorry for that.

Finally, BPM I downloaded your custom covers from your website, they are really sweet. The clockwork orange one is my favorite. Thanks!

Default 5 disc cases are available to order again

hi all, good news for folks looking to replace their huge bsg complete series sets with their own custom season cases with custom cover art. for anyone interested vernon library supplies is getting back in the 5 disc blu ray cases folks ordered a few months ago. theyll be back in stock early next week, u can call now and put in ur order so u can guarantee your shipment. their number is 800 878 0253. i called and ordered mine today, came out to 15 bucks including shipping. not bad for 5 of the 5 disc cases.

now i need just need to know one thing. what size paper will i need so i can print out the custom covers for the bsg seasons that can be found in this forum? i already have blu ray matte paper that fits traditional single disc blu cases. what will i need for these 5 disc cases?

any help would be sorely appreciated. thanks!

Thanks again bpm! They look great!!

Dammit, I always seem to be asking for more whenever I get a bunch of these covers. It's just cause they look so good on the shelf! If you ever feel like it, I'm after:
*Cutthroat Island
*Dark Crystal
*The Fall
*The Fountain
*How I Met Your Mother S4
*Labyrinth
*Angels and Demons (either on its own, or as a double with DaVinci Code).

Thanks again for all the brilliant work you've done! I think I'll start trying my own when I get a chance to give something back to the community

Hey man, no problem with the covers. Just to let you know I have made a cover for the Angels & Demons / Da Vinci Code Set. It is a little bit different; it can be found on my cover side under 'R.' I called it "The Robert Langdon Collection." I just loved the images that I used for the front and back, they are front covers from two customs done by and artist on custoManiacs. If you were looking for something different, let me know.

Default good places to start?

Again, is there a good thread to learn how to start doing this stuff? I'm going home for thanksgiving break from college and my mom is a graphic designer with all those dope programs....what do you guys n gals use to format these covers?

Also another question I would like to pose, aren't the subscription sites where you pay for covers sort of illegal? I mean how are they legally allowed to take images that they didn't produce, reformat them, and then charge people to download them? That seems like a violation of copyrights or something I don't know.

Photoshop is absolutely the best. Canvas size should be 3173 x 1762 pixels with 300 ppi.

As for the cover sites. It's technically not illegal when you use logos and title treatments as long as you follow the guideline and standards for using the logo, i.e. the Dolby Digital logo has a whole set of copyrighted guidelines stating that you cannot place the logo X amount of cm away from the edge and X amount of pixels close to another logo etc. Also as long as you place the copyright laws and for the studios on there then you should be fine. No one is out there looking for cover pirates or anything like that.

One other thing, when you become a member of the "paid sites" like you mentioned, most sites assume that you are an artist and willing to contribute to the site with your work, and that you would sorta return the favor for all the stock images and logos that you download from the site to use with your work. They are charging you more for the resource rather than the individual cover, and when you have an arsenal of covers you created you can apply to become a resident artist and receive a free membership. I don't recommend joining sites like that to anyone that is not an artist, I'm not directing that toward you just saying in general.

Default thanks

Yea I have used photoshop before so I think I could pick it up.

I'm already a broke enough college student, so joining a site like that is out of the question for now anyway. My only subscription is that netflix bluray style haha

Interesting bit there about the logo placements and copyright stuff etc.

Yea, it's something not a lot of people realize. I have a whole 10 page copyrighted manual in pdf about how the DTS HD logo is supposed to be used. It's what they give to studios and other companies using their logos.

I created a logo not long ago for the Wesley Foundation at Univ. of Texas at Arlington. Wesleyan is Methodist for those that do not know. Anyway, I put the UTA logo in front of the Methodist cross and flame and found out that the Methodist logo is copyrighted and cannot be placed behind or in front of another logo. Crazy right? If your not careful copyrighted logos can give you some trouble.

I'm going with that cover, the red on the blu is such a turn off. I was hoping someone could take a shot at

Hot Fuzz
Children of Men
Curious Case of Benjamin Button (criterion style)
and I wanted an Up with a similar cover as the steelbook, though I'd prefer the original back of the regular blu.
