slightly over 100 houirs so far, Balance is amazing so far I cannot comment on imaging since it is during break in a some point it seem a bit off but cabinet is silent port resonance minimal, vocal amazing and sound stage very big, I think they will open up it terms of sound stage as it's not quite where i expect them to be. They seem harsh at times ironically as the X-34 and x-14 seem to be quite laid back.

I believe they need another 100 hours of play tome to really shine, Now I plugged my Forest Signature back in just to compare for fun and wow they sing very well

Look at the high gloss black contour 30. This is exactly how mine are going to be

Tommy any plan to get the X-28 center?

That's one sweet looking speaker! I have thought about an x28 still thinking about it. But honestly I mostly listen to 2 channel about 70/30 to movies so it hasn't been something I feel I have to have. And my system sounds great for movies the way it is.

Hehe I figured since Dynaudio had come up with a bigger center , that might be your chance to do the move.

Should get it Monday. I'll use it with the XEO 3. It should be a step up from the Airpoet Express I use now. Not that I use the XEO a lot for music but it's a new toy to play with a fairly cheap. I like that I can stream Tidal with it instead of having to use AirPlay for Tidal like I do now.

Mine are 15 years old believe it or not and i have not put a single penny on neither of them. I was even told by a sales woman to keep them as long as they last as they were just about the last generation of washer and dryer that could last that long. She could have sold me a new pair.

Agreed, I don't think the newer models are meant to last that long, If I get 10years out of these ill be very happy.
How are the x18s break in coming along?

Sounding better and better now with around 150 hours on them, the high have tamed down a little and mids are coming through slowly, the bass response is starting to be really nice and dynamic.

How do you think they would perform as front L,R for HT?

Very good why?

Any plans to trade your MB2.5?

How did the M1S perform in HT?

Edit: I am thinking they should be pretty drn close to the 160 seriously.

Just curious.

No time soon. I don't think.

Well but I could tell they were a bit small sounding at times. Of course that was my main complaint with them for music too. In my current room I think 160s would be fine based off my experience with M1S and XEO 3. Main thing holding me back on a bookshelf speaker is knowing there are 260s out there to be had. Although it would be a lot easier to change out bookshelf speakers than floor slanders.

Need an ex 160 owner to go give them a listen and compare. Steve!

I don't know man yeah maybe if you really are fussy or you have large room, why would you change to from 2.5 to 260, Get a real sub now F113

It's unfair to compare if you have not listen to both speakers in trhe same room and same equipment even for Steve in the end it will be hard to get a perfectly accurate assesment, keep in mind I have heard the 160s several tines in Montreal at the show and my dealer and the X-18 are not to shy of them in performance, really a crossbreed between Excite and Focus line. You could use them as surrounds with the 260s

Think I'm really fussy. The 2.5 are great sounding speakers but I can't position them properly to get the best out of them in my current room. Played with postioning yesterday and was very pleased with what I heard. They don't sound bad now but they sound better spread apart a little more and a little farther out. No speaker will be able to cone out further but I could use a speaker that doesn't need 9' between the pair to sound best. I'll keep what I have for. They still sound good but I would like a little more low end on some tracks. I've thought about a sub but wonder if I can integrate one good enough to be really happy.
