Oh, that's what I do, so you can call me lazy...And I think it's useless since a 2 years old can do the same thing.

Agreed, I don't understand why they bother.

If you haven't visited the Japanese Killzone 3 page you can listen to some of the new music there.

And these are rather good.

It's so that they can cover themselves legally by saying that all visitors to the site are adults. It's not their fault if someone lies to access the site, but if they gave access to all then they'd probably get into trouble.

Silly, but that's how it works

According to GG, the SP campaign is approx 8-10 hours long. While OK for a FPS, personally I was hoping for something around 15 hours. Also, I imagine Elite level playthroughs to take much longer, but still, it's a game you don't want to end.

KZ2 was about 8 hours, i think ive flew through it in about 6 hours on later playthroughs and about 12 hours for Elite.
8-10 hours is average for an FPS. 15 hours for an FPS is asking a lot

I just received confirmation from Amazon that Killzone 3 will be release-date delivery. Not that I didn't think they would, but just an FYI.

Makes sense.

Yeah, I'd like a lengthier campaign as well. Plus when a developer states a time I usually think in reality it will take less.

I remember the good old days where a FPS took 20-30hrs. DooM 3 is the last shooter I remember being that long. Thats sad

My favorite FPS of all time is still Unreal. Simplar graphics back then but still 40+ levels. I am happy now to get a 10hr shooter. Much better than a 4hr CoD.

No, I don't want to play a Halo game that is artificially lengthened by cut and pasting the entire game, then doing the same levels backwards just with a new enemy thrown in.

A game can be long without copying and pasting the entire game. Resistane:Fall of Man was a good length, took me about 12 hours or so the first play through and it is full of variety.

I dunno, it's good it wasn't constant high tempo gameplay but I thought there were a lot of slow, boring parts in Fall of Man. Especially earlier in the game. You had to scavenge for ammo more I found too, which is fine but not suited to every FPS.

I kind of like the break up in the pacing, felt somewhat like exploring even though it is linear. Of KZ2's in your face for most of it was fantastic as well.

Why aren't they just dropping the beta with the store update?

The beta was planned for Wednesday (probably to sync with the EU store update) but got pushed pack to Thursday:

Killzone 3 Multiplayer Open Beta Coming 2/3, Win a Limited Helghast Edition

Killzone fans! We know you are eager to join the Killzone 3 Multiplayer Open Beta and the team at Guerrilla Games has been hard at work finalizing the content. The good news is that the beta is looking better than ever and we can’t wait for you to try for yourself. Unfortunately, we’re here to report that we will have a slight delay on the beta availability. The open beta was originally set to begin on Wednesday, February 2nd, but will now be available on Thursday, February 3rd at 10:00 AM Pacific Standard Time.

To make it up to you, we will be giving away 60 Killzone 3 Limited Helghast Editions (not sold in stores) to players who participate in the Open Beta this weekend. The Limited Helghast Edition contains all the same elements as the retail version of the Helghast Edition, but features a Helghast Helmet replica with illuminated LED eyes, simulating Helghasts’ glowing mask. What makes this truly “Limited” is that we’ve only made 1000 of them. Keep your eyes on the PlayStation.Blog to see how else we’ll be giving these away.

So, log on and play the Killzone 3 Multiplayer Open Beta from Friday, February 4th through Sunday, February 6th. We will be randomly selecting 20 participants each day who are playing in the Open Beta and notify winners via the email address associated with each entrant’s PSN account between February 10th, 2011 and February 18th, 2011. Check out the full rules below. Good luck this weekend!

I forgot the Beta started this week. I have the Helghan edition ordered, but this limited version with the eyes sounds great.

Shame the "normal" version doesn't have glowing eyes though

Also, the sharpshooter can be ordered on Play.com for £35 - I'll have to pick this up next month, no money left this side of March
