ok, took a look at my purchases in 2021.
A whopping 639 movies added to my collection! Mainly due to the great deals on huge box sets..

My grand total is >3,500.

I have been buying DVD/BDs for 30 years, and 2021 was the most expensive year ever.
As my wife is so fond of saying "how can physical media be dead when your unwatched pile keeps growing?"

Time to take a break from buying..and enjoy what I have...

I finally took the time to sit down and finish updating my HD inventory/library list after this year's Black Friday grabs. After the mail landed today, I'm at 3,116 unique titles. It's about 200 more titles than I realized. I was way overdue with updating my list. At least I have less than 30 titles in my to-watch list, though. Some folks have huge to-watch/unseen piles. I rarely blind-buy anymore, although I did recently grab The Vigil, Saint Maud, Meek's Cutoff, Wrath of Man (Canadian blu) and The Night House as total blind buys, and have no regrets.

Getting close to 1800, but there's probably about 100 to 150 titles I could get rid of and wouldn't miss, other than I'm pretty happy with the bulk of my collection.
The vast majority of it comes from boutique labels, since I watch few mainstream movies and streaming does the job for that, and I really appreciate the editorial work done by smaller companies.
Only 870 SKUs though, that's a lot of boxsets !

Closing in on 3000 titles on bluray now (and almost 3500 movies/TV seasons in total). And can honestly say nearly every movie I own on bluray is one I'd happily watch again. No shelf fillers here aside from maybe the odd movie included in large collection boxsets like the H G Lewis feast box set from Arrow. But even then I'm glad i own them from the standpoint of being a horror/exploitation enthusiast and him being such an influential figure in exploitation cinema. Genuinely wasn't sure I'd find 3000 movies I'd want to own when I started out collecting. I tried scouring my collection to find a few I don't want to make more space, but I just couldn't part with any of them
