Anyone get the new Breakheart Pass release or are there any screencaps of it yet? Just wondering how much of an improvement it might be over the previous release.

Sergio Leone said that Bronson was the best actor he ever directed and Leone directed guys like Robert de Niro.

We have to wait till "Akoris" gets the new blu-ray. It´s on the way to his mailbox

Never owned the previous version, but this one gets my thumbs up. Looks plenty fine to this layman's eyes.

I have it. Watching it tonight. I also have the first US release and the UK Eureka blu-ray,to compare it with.

I'm fan of both Bronson and Neeson, but other than the late career old guy action film comparison, I don't think they're comparable generally.
I probably give an edge to Bronson, just because he's my favourite actor of all time.

In terms of acting ability, Eastwood is nowhere near as good as Volonte, Robards, Fonda and De Niro...

To be fair, most of the Bronson stuff I watch now is the mid 70s through the 80s where acting isn t the thing or the point.

Right. Actually, what you see in those films is not even called "acting"...

It's not that I dislike his pre mid 70s movies, it's just that those are the ones you can wait anytime. He was very good in an episode of The Big Valley and so many other things.. Plus, I think maybe the image overshadows his acting ability.

My favourite films of his are from late 60s till '70. Once Upon A Time In The West, Rider On The Rain, Farewell Friend...

One I really liked but doesn't get talked about is Death Hunt.

Gotta pick up up Breakheart Pass also.

I love Death Hunt. It's one of his best starring vehicles if not his best...

okay-- just finished watching--- after viewing I popped in the original release to compare---

if you like this film a lot-- it's well worth the upgrade!!

Color is much more vibrant, blacks are blacker and not a drab gray.
There are a few shots where the picture is rough but they are few and far between.
Some scenes look spectacular and almost resemble a 4k version!

On top of this you get an audio commentary and 11 Bronson trailers from the Kino vault.

When comparing the old disc I was a little surprised that the audio was much louder on the original release though that can be adjusted of course...

I recommend this upgrade if you're a fan of the film!
