I'm disappointed in myself for not pre-ordering. I wrongly assumed it was gonna take a price drop right after release like the Godzilla set, which I had to return/reorder. I really didn't expect it to go OOS so quick.

I don’t think ANYONE (including Arrow) did either.

Anything outside of a regular old blu-ray packaging, pre-order.

Little batches of them have been trickling into retailers, if you pay attention there is a good chance you can snag one. But no guarantees of course. I am still convinced there is a large amount of these that were not delivered to retailers.

There were many who pre-ordered and didn't get it either on amazon at least so not sure if it would've mattered.

Still waiting to hear how the showa titles compare to the Mill Creek releases. Seems like packagi g issues and whining about not getting it have had more than enough time on thread

Well I got mine from Deep Discount yesterday. (DD comes through again!)

Perfect condition all discs correct, immaculately packed

Watched one was more fun than I expected.

Was worth the $118 I paid imo

Oh I don't know, kind hard to tell you when it's unavailable. Chalk that up as more whining.

This is the nicest looking box set I've ever seen. I'm a little put off by the monstrous size of the thing, but damn is it a beauty. Now off to watch the movies for the first time.

They're based on the same masters, but they've been deinterlaced, color corrected and put through much better compression. They're not flawless, but they're a big improvement in terms of watchability.

Well I mean, I got my copy weeks ago, but I don't have the time to actually watch these things...

The Showa films, despite being from masters with a lot of video noise on top of the natural grain that's supposed to be there, are basically flawless compression-wise, even on the discs with three films on them.

I never expected this to sell out this quick. Any chance of this coming back in stock in the UK?

Just watched GAMERA VS VIRAS for the first time. Hilariously goofy fun, with some startling violence! Loved it. I also minted a new Gamera fan. My girlfriend’s roommate sat down to watch it with us and by the end of it she said that now she’s jealous of my set and wants one for herself, and she’s only seen the one film. I gave her the info about the RoninFlix restock and wished her good luck. My job is done.

If you enjoyed GAMERA VS VIRAS for it's goofiness, wait until you get to Gamera's kick ass phase:

Gamera: Guardian of the Universe
Gamera 2: Attack of Legion
Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris

You'll love these, truly awesome Kaiju fun!

Oh I’m well acquainted with the Heisei trilogy and am a huge fan of the first one (one of the absolute best giant monster films ever made), but I’ve only seen 2 and 3 once, back in the late ‘90s. The DVDs and (until now) Blu-rays have been such crap quality with lousy bass-free soundtracks and messed-up subtitles that I wanted to wait until they had a proper release to revisit them, and now I’m greatly looking forward to it! There were three Showas I hadn’t seen, and GvV was one of them; GAMERA VS ZIGRA and GAMERA: SUPERMONSTER are now the only two I have yet to watch for the first time. I know the reps of those two aren’t exactly stellar, but I’m still looking forward to their goofy microbudget charms.

By the by, we watched GvV with the awesome Titra English dub. I ❤️ Corinne Orr, always and forever.

A fountain of praise to Kadokawa and Arrow for this nigh perfect Gamera set, complete with...EVERYTHING. Every single goddamned thing a Gamera fan could possibly want. I’ll say it again — this is one of the finest releases in home video history.

Thanks to whoever linked to the MST3K DVD being back in stock on the Shout Factory site. It's been an absolute joy going back to the Gamera episodes.
