Actually, I'd bet good money the cover art would be the same but they would ALL be reissued as BR + DVD, as has most of MGM's prior Blu-rays.

Don't dream a good presentation of this. They botched it. Big time.
What would make them horribly EE only TSWLM? Too bad if true , its the best more Moore Bond film, hands down.

I agree. Though I couldn't detect any EE while watching TSWLM on DVD, but I probably wouldn't at the time anyway... I Sure hope this isn't the case. This is my most looked forward to Bond on blu, as well as one of my most favorite Bonds. I'm also looking forward to The Living Daylights and GoldenEye. Perhaps MGM's financial situation is the reason for not releasing more Bond titles on blu lately. Now since they're suppose to be getting back on track (with the help of Lionsgate and Spyglass, or whatever), maybe we'll be getting some titles on blu by 2011. I hope.

I wasn't much of a fan of Octo***** at all. I couldn't stand seeing the guy with the turban being the big bad henchman -_-.. And I'm not much a fan of the Indian inspiration to the movie.

Define most everyone else.

Because I own it and every review I've read says it's a brilliant restoration, and I think the word ghastly is a incredibly overused here.

Well, I for one am backing up notops. The most recent DVD of TSWLM is dog squeeze. EE gone wild. All the scenes in Egypt show it the worst. The halos around Bond are so thick you'd think he'd fall through them.

Surprising really, considering that none of the other Lowry restorations had this problem. Which is not to say there weren't many other problems, just not edge enhancement.

There was a couple of digital screenings in england of TSWLM, that's where the EE was reported by several disappointed bondfans.

I think you can see it on the DVD, thought your PS3 upscaling might smooth things quite a bit, it's obvious when viewing the DVD through other means than HDMI.

So the issues with the Bond films like Spy Who Loved Me were not the fault of the DVD transfer techs, but Lowry digital? Unbelievable. I always held out the hope that it was just some DVD techs fault, not that the master was rubbish. I love that film too.

Diamonds are Forever was shown over here in the UK on ITV HD on Saturday. Proceeding the film, was the Lowry information regarding the credits for the scan and the re-mastering. Its most likely that they have already done the process for all the films. I think this was mentioned previously in this thread. From what I can see Fox were in charge of the packaging and promoting the releases. But MGM hold the rights for the films? Can someone clarify this for me .

Your right about everything. Lowery has already done all of the James Bond movies in glorious 2k/4k and Fox was in charge of production of the releases. It was MGM's financial difficulties that stoped the flow of sweet HD James Bond goodness. Fox has done a few MGM releases here and there but they haven't said anything about James Bond recently when it comes to new Blurays.

I'd suspect that sometime next year they will start up again. Now that the next Bond film is underway for 2012. It would make sense to start releasing the catalog movies before the premiere of the next movie.

the next Bond film is not underway even with the recent MGM deal.
Everything regarding the next Bond is still at a complete standstill.
I just read an article a week ago.
Craig is signed up for the Dragon Tattoo films and because of that the filming might not even start until 2012.
Fox may as well release the blu-rays.
there is 0 reason to wait anymore.
That article said it could well be 2014 until a release of a new film.

I caught the film in HD on Bravo and the EE that the UE DVD had is no longer there. I was very impressed with seeing the film in HD on Bravo.

Can't wait for Spy and the other 8 to come to blu ray..

The MGM restructuring is good news for Blu, just look at how many titles they have mastered for MGM HD, they seem to be one of the most hd friendly film companies out there, so I expect a load of releases.

This world would be a better place if GoldenEye was out on Blu-Ray. We might even live in a world of peace.

An utopian reality? We'll have to wait for GE to find that out

As long as GoldenEye is amongst the first to get released I'll be happy. And if it's not too much to ask already, TSWLM as well .
