I think you'd be better off getting another subwoofer to go with your HSU. The AA would stick out like a sore thumb with detailed music. You would be better off with another HSU or an eD A2-300 or A3-300.

DK, why do you say that? I don't listen to classical so I am at a loss here, but I do listen to some jazzier and bluesy type music and it does a fairly good job with it. I am only familiar with my dads JBL sub and the best buy martin logan dynamo {love this sub}(my old sony doesn't count). I feel that the AA sub falls somewhere in between for music, but mostly I listen to alternative and then some john mayer, tori amos, so there is strong guitar riffs and piano riffs.

How does classical differ?

(this is informational only not arguemenative)

No problem. I didn't mean for it to come off as "it is bad at music". JJ, for example, has his Martin Logan and says it is much better for music than the AA. His HSU is up there with musicality which is why I said that.

The Onkyo receiver is not a problem. You can connect as many subwoofers to it as you want. Does the RM6750 have an RCA input connector on its back?

I will add your name to the list of owners in Post #1. Make sure you post some pictures when your subwoofer arrives.

lol, I'd be going to pick it up for her if I would have left!

I got the sub last night when the UPS man finally got back to their loading office around 8:30. By the time I ran to radio shack to get a sub cable (that wasn't needed because AA put everything in the box that I would need!) and got home to get everything set up and adjusted everyone was asleep. So, unfortunately I didn't get to really play with it too much.

I noticed this morning though that there was some buzzing from the speakers and the AVR cut out a couple of times. This was right after I turned it on so I know it wasn't over heated. I'm going to check the wires when I go home for lunch and make sure everything is connected nice and tight. I sure hope the AVR isn't going on me or can't handle the load of everything I have plugged to it. Considering it's a 7ch AVR I really hope the 5 I have it running isn't too much for it to handle.

This weekend I'm going to poly fil the sub and if I get the time I may try to build a riser for it. Here's what I have envisioned for a riser, could someone tell me if this will be fine or not?

I'm thinking of the 3/4 mdf for the platform but for the legs instead of standing them up. I was thinking of cutting 2x4's to length and laying them flat to give it a lower profile then carpeting it and using the solid foam in between the legs.

Basically it would look more like this:

rather then this:

Check the RCA cable from your sub to the AVR as it sounds like you have a ground loop issue.

Read the below sticky from BD and see if this applies to your situation. He provides steps to find out the issue and how to resolve it....good luck buddy!

I don't think that's it, plus it was there before the sub (and it didn't seem to be coming from there, just the fronts/surrounds). I just noticed it again this morning. Before I had written it off as maybe a disc error or scratch but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's not really a hum though more of sparatic static and the AVR shutting down makes me believe it's a power supply issue. I'll look into all my options when I get home for lunch though and see if I can find anything.

Thanks for the link.

edit:
Also just remembered my fronts are set to large so I wonder if they're pulling more power then needed. I'll change that as well and see if it helps any.
