If I had to guess it could have been because they did not want to pay the extra actors that were included in this for the home video royalties, or some other money or rights issues , I have no proof of this just a thought. Maybe another member has more information on this.

Face of the enemy is definitly worth checking out though as someone else stated it does give rational for

[Show spoiler]I've seen it but I don't recall any logical reason given for the mutiny. The episodes explicit show that Gaeta's reasons amounted to anti-Cylon sentiment. He wasn't thinking of the Fleet: he just had a vendetta.

Yes, this one:

If I remember correctly there were some complaints with the packaging, and The Plan wasn't included. It's out of print now.

Yeah, I have that Cylon, and three more of a slightly different version I bought online while they were available, back when the show was still airing on TV...

Heres two of the Cylon figures, I use them at car shows - I have my '08 Scion xD modded with a BSG Cylon theme, including a red Cylon scanning eye behind the grill... The Cylon in the foreground is the one from the BSG Cylon-head box set:

...And here's what happens when you walk away from your car for two minutes to grab a soda at the food stand nearby:

The "battle damage" was unique on the Cylon figure that came with the box set. But many other variations of the Cylons were released on their own, some of which are even more rare, some of which are more common. Different paint schemes, different "damage", one with blood spatter, one with a better silvery paint scheme, etc. They're great figures, well worth getting on ebay.

The pilot figures (humans) are good too - they have some with zipped-up flight suits, some with unzipped flight-suits, and even one with the suit half-down and tied at the waist (as was common when they were hanging out in the cantina).

Only problem with the action figures is that Commander Adama is nearly impossible to get. In order to get him, you had to place an order at ToysRUs.com for the Col. Tigh figure, and you'd actually get Adama. That lasted about a month before they were all sold out.

Also, they released two versions of Six, and they put the wrong heads on them. The head with the red lipstick is supposed to be on the "red dress" version, and the head with the pale lipstick is supposed to be on the black outfit version. So you have to heat the heads up with a hair dryer and pop them off and put them on the right body.

Oh, also DST stopped production of the line before they released Baltar and President Roslyn. And a couple of the figures look nothing like the characters (the Razor version of Gina, who we know as a Six).

But all in all, great figure line, one of the best before action figure companies gave up due to the bad economy.

[Show spoiler]Gaeta is wavering in an attempted overdose of morpha when Hoshi and Racetrack finally find him. Back aboard Galactica, Gaeta expresses intense displeasure with the Cylon alliance. He demands to speak to the Admiral, threatening Tigh in the process. A cryptic message to Lt. Hoshi, "You found me and you saved me, so I'll protect you. And if this doesn't work out, if I'm wrong, then you have a bright future, Louis. But keep your head down," foreshadows Gaeta's actions in subsequent episodes.

I am well aware of this. This still does not justify the actions he and Zarek performed. They were unjustified in every sense of the word. Racism != justification. The actions of a lone Cylon != justification.

Seems pretty clear and justified to me. Not everything has to be spelled out perfectly, there's information in the subtext as well.

[Show spoiler]So, you think the mutiny was justified? Dismantling their government was justified? The murder of civilians was justified? Here is the text I posted that ended the argument on the other forum and should close the matter here as well:

Having just finished the series, I can say that the mutiny in season four was in no way justified. Many civilians and innocents died because Gaeta used his personal prejudices against Adama and co and couldn't think rationally for a few minutes. Are Adama and the others innocent? No. He likes to pull the "military decision" card a lot when he disagrees with what's going on politically. Not giving much credence to the Quroum is another mistake. Does this mean that two idiots should go around killing people because they don't like it and can't think rationally about the situation? No. The fact is that the rebels had nothing but their word and technology to offer. In these dire times, trust has to be given.

[....]

Here's an important scene about the matter:

Quote:

Tyrol: Absolutely. And that's conservative. [Their technology is way ahead of yours].

Adama, to Lee: What do you think?

Lee: Well, tripling jump capacity triples our chances of finding a habitable planet before we run out of food and fuel. That I might be able to sell.

Gaeta then asks what the catch is for this upgrade

Tyrol: We wanna be part of the Fleet, not just along for the ride. Full members, citizens, seat at the Quorum, the whole thing.
The bold is the key. Those who are opposed aren't thinking rationally. They are instead letting what happened cloud their judgement. The fleet's safety and the search for a new home is the top priority. The integration of the rebel Cylons also means more pilots. So, no, they weren't thinking rationally.

[...]

The fleet's safety comes before anything else, which is what Adama and the others were thinking of when they made the decision to upgrade the FTL drives. The upgraded FTL drives would help in the aid of searching for food too.

[...]

I would trust their word because they have the [redacted] technology to help the fleet.. Those [redacted] on the tylium ship, with the leadership of Zarek, put the fleet in far more danger than Adama and Roslin. What if the ship was found and destroyed? Oops, there goes our ability to jump to find food and even run.

Edit: Imagine if there was another scenario similar to what happened in "The Passage," where a food shortage took place and the only place to get food was to travel through massive amounts of radiation. Those upgrades would help immensely, reducing the amount of damage done to the ships.

[...]

Gaeta didn't give a [crap] about the process of government. Period. He just didn't trust the Cylons. He didn't like how they were getting treatment by Cottle, while he was there to wait to get his false leg adjusted. He didn't want them to gain colonial citizenship. Gaeta confronted Starbuck about her Cylon husband and the other Cylons in the Fleet. He implied Starbuck could be a Cylon too. All of his complaints about the citizens and their right to deny Cylon access to their ships was shrouded in anti-Cylon sentiment. What was his reason for having the Admiral arrested? Treason. Why treason? Because he was collaborating with the rebel Cylons. He didn't give a [crap] about the governmental process.

I don't agree with a lot of the things Adama did. Risking the lives of everyone to go after a baby was indefensible. And you are right, it working out doesn't make it okay. But I agree with the decision to integrate the rebel Cylons in the fleet. It was for the continuation of their survival. The evidence was laid out to the Quorum (see below for examples) and they still disagreed, putting the Fleet in jeopardy. Zarek and Gaeta's little mutiny didn't do much to shape the government. They murdered the only people that could have convinced the citizens to be on their side.

[...]

I know that having the technology doesn't mean they are trustworthy. Their actions showed that they could be trusted. They didn't attack as soon as they were brought back from the rendezvous with Starbuck and the others on the Demetrius. They didn't kill the president and the others that they held. They aided in the destruction of the Resurrection Hub. They aided in the discovery of what they all thought was a new home. They offered up their technology to assist the Fleet. These are actions that are deemed trustworthy and it is not unreasonable to think that these matters were mentioned to the Quorum. I would have trusted the hell out of these rebel Cylons.

----------

So, there you have it. The mutiny was predicated on anti-Cylon sentiment and the parties involved operated under the facade of saving the Fleet and instituting a working government. Zarek wanted massive political power; he murdered the Quorum to pave the way. Gaeta hated the rebel Cylons and did not think rationally about how their inclusion in the feet would help. It was not justified. The murder of civilians was not justified. The murder of innocents was not justified. Endangering the Fleet's jump capabilities was not justified.

I love that the show allows us to have these discussions!
