They've always been like that and it is part of the reason I buy them, I can see if you don't dig that but it's like buying peanut m&m's and then wanting a refund because there is peanuts in them.
The film is cut by SIX minutes with totally washed out color and loaded with scratches and lines. Are you crazy? Pure garbage which would have been better off not even being released at all. Sorry Demon but I've bought several of your titles w/o a problem.

The 6 minutes cut thing kinda sucks but as far as quality goes I love that stuff in the drive in releases, it makes it look/feel more authentic imo.

^ Are you sure those missing 6 minutes actually belong there? Distributors were known to add stuff to films after the fact, sometimes without the Director's knowledge.

That I don't know but the VHS box says 95 mins and it's actually 93. (I timed it). IMDB says 94 mins, Rotten Tomatoes says 93. I don't know why so many people are defending this. Maybe they're afraid of the Demon/Dark Forces.

Maybe part of his film was so damaged that it's missing since it has tons of scratches and lines in it.

Wouldn't surprise me. I've seen it happen before.

Listen cloudnine do you know how rare those two films are? There are no hi-def releases on either one of them and the original negative elements are long lost. So it's either those prints or nothing. Many of the drive-in releases have come from negative elements or much better condition prints but I completely agree with the other member that commented the grindhouse prints can really add to the drive-in experience. As for any minutes being cut out, we know nothing of that and drive-in prints were often known to be edited to fit into second and third feature time slots but we never advertised them as uncut either. Not to mention this release was priced appropriately given their condition. I do think the release was definitely worth it due to the rarity and public interest for both films. Luckily we have the drive-in line which was the most suitable for them.

Really disappointing to hear My Pleasure Is My Business may be cut, as I was really looking forward to that one. Hopefully it's not any of the sex and nudity that was cut.

I'm looking at it right now and I would not be that disappointed. This movie hasn't seen the light of day since VHS! So just the fact that its now on hi-def is a miracle. Cloudnine definitely exaggerated about the condition of the print, I have seen way worse through all my years of releasing them. Even very recently at Quentin Tarantino's New Beverly Cinema that only shows 35mm prints. I would personally way rather watch this one for the high definition clarity and contrast over a perfect VHS tape, if you could even find one and a machine to play it. As for the alleged missing footage Cloudnine might be able to shed some better light on that since he may be one of the only people left on earth that has the VHS of this relic. If there is any missing scenes I highly doubt it's anything significant. Overall its very watchable and if anything I think people will be surprised that the condition isn't that bad after reading these posts. Part of the reason the Drive-In series was created was for films like this that are very rare from that era with no good negative elements available and only 35mm prints. The alternative is simply nothing which could be argued as well but we here at Dark Force believed it was perfect for the still going strong Drive-In Series.

Will the Mirror Mirror 4K release port this from the previous BD release?

Despite both being 1975 productions called The Golden Triangle, they are different movies. Perfect double feature?

Actually yeah they do, lol. That was tricky. Like I said in the other thread the artwork even seemed similar. Wonder if I will like both?

DOUBLE NICKELS/BETWEEN THE COVERS

I haven't been familiar with Dark Force Entertainment and just now looking over the releases. I saw "Between The Covers" on Tubi recently and liked it. But I'm a bit puzzled of the pairing of an nudie sex comedy with a PG rated car picture which doesn't interest me at all. I get that they are both "drive in fare" of a type. But I wish something of a similar style had been put on the blu-ray with "Between The Covers". Maybe looking at the disc and the fact that the car picture is listed first, "Double Nickels" is supposed to be the prime attraction? I still don't get the pairing, then.

In BTC, I liked the scene where the guy goes to meet his girlfriends parents, who are sex therapists, and then he ends up in a threesome with the mother and the Indonesian au pair girl. Some beautiful women in this. The woman in green doing the solo act with the teddy bear was nice.

For these films that made the jump from VHS I would also keep in mind how old those VHS tapes might be. 20 years? 30? 40? If the film wasn’t taken care of in the long meantime, it probably just looks like a Grindhouse experience now, unless someone has the time and money to do an Apu Trilogy level restoration on it.
