Do trophies require PS+? That would explain the online requirement, if so.

They didn't on the ps3. Only to sync and update Sony's database. But the actual and accurate count would be seen in your console. So say your playing offline and get a trophy. You can see what that trophy was and whatever else you need to complete. Sony's database would update when you get back online. I can't do this on the ps4. If I'm playing offline I need to refer to online websites to see what trophies the game I'm playing has. Kind of a hassle. I should be able pop to my trophy list when I unlock one as if I'm online.

Is your first sentence in response to the PS+ part, or the Bioshock part? I acknowledge that trophies unlocked and could be visited offline on PS3, except for Bioshock: Infinite, unless they patched it. For that game, your trophies would not unlock unless you were logged in, at least at launch. It is a nuisance on PS4 that you can't see them offline ever. It would only make sense if it was behind the paywall, and I don't think it is.
A feature I want is to show the name/picture of the blu ray disc inserted in the system, the ps3 had it, I don't know why the ps4 doesn't

Played BioShock but don't remember how the achievements unlocked. No paywall for trophies. Otherwise i think we would hear more if an uproar.
Looks like you can manually update to 2.50 right now (it's the official Beta version). Although I wouldn't do it personally. For the sake of waiting a week or two more for the final version to go live.

I agree, Sony can't even get the final version right half the time. No way would I trust them with a beta.
Thanks for the info. What is new about the first screenshot? Is it the save video clip and save screenshot? It looks a little different but I thought those options were already displayed on that screen (although, maybe not with a box around them).
Looking at the pics above, Suspend/Resume is all that interests me.
Also, I think Sony should be careful not to clutter their UI with a billion options. Might make people wanna look at other consoles for a "simpler" gaming UI experience that expresses "fun"

Glad that they are finally adding the back-up feature and restore from an external USB hard drive (now I might actually upgrade the internal hard drive). I take it that games will still not be playable from the external USB hard drive?
