Lucky*Star did get a great release like that here, it's called the Bandai Entertainment DVD singles when Bandai was at the top of their LE-game. Shame the 6th LE got canned.

It didn't help that unsold limited editions like those helped contribute to Bandai's eventual downfall.

My copy of Nisekoi: (2nd season) Volume 1 blu-ray shipped today. AoA titles are shipping earlier and earlier, not as early at Sentai lol but still. No complaints from me though!

While I am glad I already own this I think it is too early for this to be OOP. And if it is I will call some serious BS on Aniplex cause this series deserves to be in print for as long as possible.

It's good to see that YLIA has sold well but this has me wondering how many copies Aniplex actually produced.

It's like Disney putting their stuff in a "vault" and re-releasing it every few years except that with aniperplexing it disappears forever.

Not much of a vault and more like a black hole.

More in AoA's decline...

Looks like you can't get a translation booklet anymore for the third Persona 3 movie even though it's still in-stock.
Quote:
I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this company. Apparently the english translation booklet, prided as an "Aniplex of America exclusive bonus material" for Persona 3 The Movie Part 3: Falling Down collector's edition was an extremely limited print, which makes absolutely no sense considering the collectors edition is still able to be bought off your website. What about all the Persona 3 fans who wish to enjoy everything that came with the movie, but don't understand the written Japanese language? Very poor business model, and it's made me reluctant to pre-purchase the fourth movie coming soon.

How much lower can AoA go? From their translations being among the worst, to including only art cards on all their upcoming releases except The Asterisk War, to not even including a translation booklet for The Anthem of the Heart, ugh.

(For anyone wondering what I mean about translations, see High School Fleet, Charlotte, Erased, Fate/stay night: UBW, and Wagnaria!!3 here.)

Looks like Shigatsu is also back-ordered on every site listed on Aniplex's Retailer list as well.

I'm FAIRLY sure that Out of Stock means just that. Usually if it's out of stock and OOP, they'll just post Out of Print on the listing like they did with the Madoka Magica vol. 2 standard release.

Kill la Kill Volume 3 standard was listed as out of stock a week or so ago, but I e-mailed them and they said they were expecting more by the end of the month.

No need to panic yet... I don't think.

Latest casualty of Aniplex refusing to keep things in-print, the Gurren Lagann movies are now completely OOP. It couldn't even last two full years.

Glad I got them last year. Gurren and Kill La Kill are two of the series they have that I definitely didn't want to miss out on.

So now both Gurren Lagann and Madoka Magica compilation films are OOP.

What are the odds they'll just make them available but as separate films with just the case (a la Sword Art Online: Extra Edition)?

I could see them doing that. Maybe an announcement at anime expo. But it's aniplex, I don't think they got a set pattern like the other companies lol.

I'm hoping they do a box set for SAO similar to the Madoka set that's coming out. That's the reason I've yet to order the standard sets.
