Color is much more vibrant, blacks are blacker and not a drab gray.
There are a few shots where the picture is rough but they are few and far between.
Some scenes look spectacular and almost resemble a 4k version!

On top of this you get an audio commentary and 11 Bronson trailers from the Kino vault.

When comparing the old disc I was a little surprised that the audio was much louder on the original release though that can be adjusted of course...

I recommend this upgrade if you're a fan of the film!

There's no mention of a fresh scan on the packaging, which had me worried. Glad to learn that this actually contains a remaster as it's the sole reason why I'm double dipping but why did Kino omit this tidbit from the specs? Odd. That old disc was a bit salty.

Lol. Couldn't think of the right word. Maybe 'grimy' was more appropriate

Thanks for your informative review. Now I´m going to buy the new disc and I´m now curious even more about the new 2k scan of "Mr Majestyk" which is in my opinion a top 5 Charles Bronson movie.

My pleasure! And yes, I’m most likely going to upgrade that one as well now.

Death Hunt is like a fantasy movie come to life for me; Chuck vs. Lee in ruggedly picturesque Yukon locations? Yes please!

Thank God it was converted to a reality and not something I can dream about being made.

I could'nt agree more!👍 The new release from Kino Lorber looks stunning on my 4K TV!
The dark scenes on the train and the color is a big improvement!❤

This is true. In fact, what very few people know is that unscrupulous film producers just sent a camera crew out to follow Charles Bronson on street patrol as he shot dead real muggers and drug dealers. The names in the credits are just made up to protect the guilty. Bronson was number one on the FBI's most wanted list for 15 years in a row.

Only 15 years?! He was such a slacker

The new release of Mr. Majestyk won't be released until December 7th, so it will be 3 weeks or so before we get to see some screenshots or a review of it.

IMO Bronson's best action flick or top 3 at very least (in a leading role)

Some comparisons for Kino's "Chato's Land":

I also received "Breakheart Pass" and I'll post caps later (barring if somebody else beats me to it).

Would love to see how Breakheart Pass compares. I thought the TT release of Chato's looked pretty good overall, but the new release does look better. The original Breakheart Pass release was in more dire of a need for some work.

Clear improvement.

Possible issues with contrast and black crush though.

Screw it. The Kino second release of Breakheart Pass was such a huge improvement, that I just ordered the new Chato's Land release. That looks better and I really enjoy the art. Still, the Twilight Time release still looks pretty good.

Kino keeps the Bronson releases coming. They clearly love Bronson titles but I am not about to complain. This time they are releasing "Breakout":
