I'll try to post a picture tonight, when I get home from work to hopefully show in a bit more clarity what I'm trying to explain. |

Maybe the artwork was custom printed because they were original rentals. |

Hmmm. You said it had Redbox stickers, I believe that is a rental company in the US, yes?
Could it be that the cover art was printed by them, and not by Disney? |

That it sounds like the most likely case here.

![]() ![]() The Convergence, an alignment of the Nine Realms, causes worlds to be linked to one another by way of portals. When Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, steps into one of these portals while on a trip to London, she is infected with the Aether, a superweapon of the Dark Elf lord, Malekith, who was defeated by the forces of Asgard thousands of years ago. When Malekith awakens to resume his quest for domination, he attacks Asgard, where Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, continues to protect the Realms while his brother, Loki, played by Tim Hiddleston, is imprisoned following the events that unfolded in The Avengers. As the battle on Asgard leads to a chain of events that endangers Earth, Thor and Jane struggle to save the day with the help of an unlikely ally. The 2013 film, Thor: The Dark World, may be one of the lesser entries in the ongoing Marvel Studios franchise, but it is nonetheless an entertaining endeavor thanks to outstandingly seamless digital effects and a dynamite cast. Anthony Hopkins, as Odin, is brilliant and stately as always. The gorgeous Jaimie Alexander reprises her role as the Asgard warrior, Sif, while the always-lovely Kat Dennings provides additional eye candy on Earth. Idris Elba, as Heimdall, continues to command attention as one of my favorite Marvel supporting players. For some reason, this movie did not click with me when I saw it for the first time upon its release, but everything fell into place with today's viewing. It's a fun way to spend an afternoon. Be on the lookout for a fun cameo by Captain America, played by Chris Evans. The Blu-ray looks and sounds absolutely perfect. Last edited by The Great Owl; 03-15-2018 at 05:13 PM. |

Right? It's not the best MCU film out there, but certainly the greatest looking one. I always loved the cinematography of The Dark World and the action sequences are exhilarating to watch; my only problem is the weak story and the forced humor.

I'm not sure he's saying that it's got God-tier cinematography or anything, though Great Owl's PQ write-ups rarely extend beyond a few words anyway. Even if it did look like it was shining out of God's backside it still wouldn't help the film because it's shite.
