Thinking about my life a lot lately and realizing I haven't done much in the 30+ yrs of my existence. Since I'm going to lose my parental rights in just under 2 months I want to do something to rectify that...

You're married and you have a daughter, that's more than a lot of people do in a lifetime.

When next I woke, it was. They cleaned up around me and left a chair next to me for when I woke up. Not so good when you live on a busy street in a fairly large city like Worcester, MA. At least we had a hedge around the property.

I’ve seen a lot of people make this grammatical error, not just you, nevertheless it annoys the hell out of me every time I see it. You meant to say "my roommate and I" which would be correct.

What is wrong with the educational system in this country?!

America has never cared about properly educating people, proven every day by the actions of our lawmakers and the idiocy of people I work with. SO many people fail to grasp the concept not everyone clocks in before 8, not to mention headphones on means don't talk to me. 2 very simple concepts I could teach a 5 year old to grasp.

People bother me all the time when I’m wearing headphones.
It’s so annoying.

and it seems they ONLY want to talk to you when you're wearing headphones. they'll basically ignore you if you're not wearing headphones, but as soon as you put some on, it's like it's a signal for them to try and hold a (usually idiotic/meaningless) conversation with you.

A few weeks ago I ubered for just a few hours and made $46. Which was convenient as I turned around and spent $40 at Lowes on a Hitachi grinder. It was a steal at that price, as it came with a carrying case and 5 grinding wheels. I needed something to cut rebar rods that had been sticking out of my ground from one of the previous homeowners. I finally did that yesterday and it worked like a champ.

i have that same grinder. i think mine was the same price about 7 years ago. i've used it to cut brick, stone, sheet metal, hardware cloth, rebar, grind down bolts, cut pvc pipe, cut metal conduit, sharpen blades, etc. that thing has a thousand uses. trust me, you'll find many other uses for it. hell, you'll even look for something to cut just so you can use it, lol.

and get yourself a flap disc for it. they're great for smoothing out metal things like bolts and rebar so they ends aren't jagged. i think they only disc i don't have for mine is a wire brush disc. i have the grinding stone, cut-off disc, masonry disc, diamond disc, flap disc, and sanding disc.

i have an 8" grinder that belonged to my granddad. that thing is a beast. it's heavy and will yank your arms out of their sockets if you're not careful with it. i don't use it that often, though. only for something really big.

I wasn’t aware the Hitachi brand name was still being used, since Western Digital bought them some years back. I guess it’s just their hard drives they rebranded.

So funny that my very first HD set was a Hitachi...they were THE brand to get during the advent of HD broadcasting.

Why are escalators always breaking down? Even brand new ones. A new transit hub opened in my city last year and the escalators are already out of order with huge barriers blocking them. More often than not one or more escalator always seems to be broken wherever I go.

People who stand on escalators instead of walking annoys me more than busted escalators.

When I was in film school they told me to use "G-Drive" external hard drives to back up my work. I later found out that inside the G-Drive casing was a Hitachi drive. And from that point on I only bought Hitachi drives, before WD bought them. Now I buy WD drives.

What I like about escalators is they can never break, they can only turn into stairs. Instead of an "escalator out of order" sign, they should have an "escalator temporarily stairs, sorry for the convenience"

Outside of safety reasons, it's more efficient and less queue lines at the bottom if people just stood.
