My dad was in attendance for one of his motivational speeches down in Florida. He talked about how this would be his last season on ESPN. (I am assuming another network won't hire him)

I found a comment on some website, but he also said it's the fifth time he's said it, and ESPN has always talked him into staying (WHY?!?!).

He also said he wants to retire when people are saying "why is he retiring?" instead of "when is he retiring?". He's about 5 years too late.

I simply don't get it.

The Big 12 was 4-0 against the Big 10 this year. How you can decide that OSU is better than both Baylor and TCU is completely beyond me.

*EDIT* The conspiracy Theorist in me thinks that OSU won because of money, as Baylor and TCU aren't on the same scale as Ohio State.

Ohio State dodged Nebraska by virtue of not playing everybody in the Big 10.

I'm sure that's part of their reasoning, but OSU against Wisconsin is no more compelling that Baylor against Kansas State was regardless of having a lame "championship" tag applied to it.

Jeff Long implied on ESPN that the Big XII being the only conference without a title game did hurt the overall resumes of Baylor and TCU because neither is the true conference champion.

Man Mississippi State really impressed me with their performance this past weekend. They definitely deserved to jump ahead of Michigan State and take their spot in the Orange Bowl

And good luck even getting FSU to sell their allotment of tickets (12,500) for a semi-final game in Pasadena. I'm sure fans will travel for a national title game but asking fans from Florida to go to California for a semi-final is a bit much. It'll be a sea of green at that game.

At least you just moved to a different bowl (and a New Years one at that, which are supposed to be the "more prestigious"). Would you rather play Baylor or GT?
