Am in the middle of watching TT3D closer to the Edge.

An in-depth documentary about the preparation for and dangers of the annual motorcycle race on the isle of Man. Excellent for even those who are not fans of the sport.

This has to be seen in 3D. Depth and picture quality places one right in the middle of everything. Only problem is trying to comprehend some of what is being said due to heavy accents.

It's region B.

Watched War For the Planet of the Apes last night. Seemed a little long and the 3D and overall movie was OK. I felt like they got lazy with some of the scenes where the distant background looked completely flat. There were a few nice 3D scenes like when a lot of arrows are flying (nice use of atmos too) or a scene around a waterfall. The biggest problem I had was it was a little dim on my projector, but not too bad after a little tweaking.

Thumbs up

Well I'm just having the laziest day ever! I'm allowed to, I have MS

I've just finished watching 3D's of Tron (Legacy) followed by Madagascar 3 (Best 3D?)

I instantly went on-line and purchased blind-buy 3D's of My Bloody Valentine and Blade Runner 2049. I am addicted to 3D and in the process of researching Projectors. My next immediate project however is to see who is doing the best price for the Original Tron BR cos that movie was only a distant but lasting memory reinvigorated after watching Legacy

I recently watched two 3D movies, both of which seemed good, but then....

Poltergeist 3D starts off pretty good and I'm a Sam Rockwell fan.

I like the fact that he got laid off and they buy the house because it's super cheap.

It goes along way to explaining why they can't just leave, they can't afford anything else.

There's some nice practical jump scares that work well in the early going.

I like how the young boy is trying to warn the family, but no one will listen to him.

There's a great scene where the ghosts manipulate the teen thru her phone.

That's more of what this movie needed, a more modern take on the concept.

Unfortunately, the second half is a joyless re-telling of the exact same story.

The ghost hunter expert is oddly charisma-free and the movie goes on auto-pilot.

After girl is abducted, he opens his Ghost Hunter Bag and it has 200ft of rope (groan).

Next up, Jurassic Park Fallen Kingdom 3D.

I put off watching this for a long time because the first one didn't do much for me.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed the 1st half of the movie quite a bit (volcano island rescue).

The movie looks great and I was initially wondering why I waited so long to watch.

But then the movie loses all it's energy with the goofy Dino Prison / Auction thing.

I wasn't even sure where they were (California?), how could you do all that in secret?

There were a few decent bits at the end, but the movie never recovered...

On the bright side, both these 3D movies are pretty cheap now at least.

Hi Gavin,

That I am truly sorry to learn but it appears you're not letting that sidetrack you!

And 3D is the best tonic. We're all addicts in this forum.

Good luck with the projector and getting the best price on that Tron Legacy Blu-ray.

Hi guys

Want a little help here. Most all that I read about Gulliver's Travels, including the threads from a few years back, said the 3D was awful. However, just saw the 3D trailer when watching Rio and was really impressed with the 3D content. Or at least didn't find it anywhere as bad as I anticipated it to be.

Know it's juvinile in many ways but that's secondary to me compared to the 3D that can be added to my collection.

Were the snippets seen on the trailer reflective of the actual 3D or the exceptions rather than the rule?

I read here that many trailers were converted to 3D separately from the actual movie.

So the trailer can have better / stronger 3D than the actual movie...

But it sounds like you really want to give the movie a shot and I don't blame you.

I've seen 3D copies with slipcover for $12, but I could never pull the trigger on this one.

I'm not a GitS expert and I never even watched the original animated classic.

But going into the movie, I sort of understood that they would have to stick to a script.

Having said that, I thought the movie was a visual feast. I could watch this all day.

I would routinely demo GitS 3D, Life of Pi 3D, or Immortals 3D for guests.

Hey Joe, Hamilton Books has Gullivers Travels 3D for $6.95. $4 shipping rate,no matter how much you buy, so grab a few more titles. (They also have some 2D titles, but I didn't post that here!) And they sell books. All of them, I think.

Thanks for the tip smaugone. I'm still not sure about gullivets, especially learning that trailers are often enhanced. Too many say the 3D is worthless.

I've heard it's similar to Clash of the Titans, with lots of 3D errors and warping.
Early conversion, I guess. I didn't buy it myself, at least not yet.
