Must have been a time exclusive. The Sainsbury site says it was released on Dec 24th.

This really sucks, im pissed.

I ordered yesterday 3 steelbooks since they were on sale including Blade Runner from amazon.ca and it is not shipping with my others steels because its no longer in stock.... When i log into my amazon account and check orders it just shows it sitting there not being shipped.... So now what? would they send me a email letting me know they will not get them back in stock? or would i have to cancel my order?

mine shipped to. Just because its sitting there, doesn't mean they wont fulfill it unless they sent you an email about a delay in getting stock, if that's the case they may be sold out.

Ordered Polar Express, I am Legend, Gone with the Wind, Troy and Blade Runner. All 4 shipped today except Blade Runner. Hopefully, Amazon CA somehow still have the Blade Runner steelbook in their warehouse somewhere. Not sure is it is already OOP or OOS. So glad I missed ordering Polar Express from Future Shop. $10 cheaper from Amazon CA.

In my experience if they run out of something they'll ship whatever they have in stock and the rest later.
They don't charge any extra to ship them separately.

But I live in Canada, so it might be different for international customers, hopefully not.

Hi

I want to start collecting either Digibooks or Steelbooks but don't know which are the best.

What is so great about Steelbooks and why should I start collecting them instead of Digibooks?

Thanks

Steelbooks are bad for you. They damage easily, are expensive, and despite there being some beauitful examples out there, the quality of all of them is questionable.

Stay away from them is my advice, they are like crack, easy to get into, hard to let go.

I've heard multiple stories of digibooks being easy to damage/fall apart too. Honestly both have a chance of damage so choose the one that YOU like the most for whatever personal reasons make you happy. Personally, I love the sturdiness and artwork of the steelbooks. I have digibooks too so why not both?

I like digibooks more, but I prefer having steelbooks because I never read the digibooks. They only look nicer when I go through them the first time I receive them, but they'll end up on my shelf. But I do like digibooks more, you get more for your money and it looks like they've put some real work into it.

I have more steelbooks because it is easy to start collecting steelbooks, but very hard to stop doing so. But they're nice too. Play.com loaded the steelbook market with a lot of crap, so be sure to spend your money on the steelbooks you really want. Don't just look at how limited it is or what everyone is buying .

I started collecting steelbooks by accident. Started gathering a few over the years and began to pay more attention to this forum.

Gave up after I received my first one with the dreaded spine slash from Play.com. Never looked back since. They're a collectible and I'll never have the best collection, so who gives a toss?

I've got more money and as many films since giving up. They do look nice, though... As long as they avoid damage while making their way to you.

We're moving away from physical formats now. It's been coming a long time and now it's here. You get to a point when there are more attractive things to put in your house than Blu-rays. They only impress people on the Internet whom you'll never invite into your house.

Doesn't make you any less of a film lover. People with massive steelbook collections don't even care for half the stuff they own. That's why their steelbooks are sealed!

The 'best' collection? To me, the 'best' collection is my collection! Ive had to send one steelbook back re damage - one of about 40? altogether I think.

We're not moving away from physical formats - you might be, we are not!

In US, it is better to collect digibook because they are easy to find and not as expensive as steelbook. I started with digibook but I am collecting steelbook now. I never paid full price for my digibook. They are on sale quite often. It is unfortunate that I have to purchase my steelbook from other country. I missed quite a lot because I just started. I can tell you that they are addictive.

But Steelbook is 100% identical to the previous release with 2 BDs + inside artwork.
