It's the 3rd best team in the SEC, and they got STOMPED.

Uhh... no. Ole Miss had the 5th best SEC record and tied for 4th best overall record among SEC teams. A 5-3 SEC conf record doesn't = 3rd best SEC team. Or maybe you're mistaking Ole Miss for Mississippi St.

Wonder what the excuse will be when Bama wins again and the conference wins it's 8th national title in 9 years. Probably the usual "but but... the SEC is top heavy!".

Winning one game doesn't = 3rd best in the SEC. Ole Miss finished 3rd in their division, 5th in their conference.

It IS top heavy. Denying that is insane.

Alabama is a great team year in and year out. The next 4 teams are good, some every year and some every few years. The next 2 or 3 are good every 5 years. The rest are terrible.

Yeah and if they lose they didn't want to be there right?

Based off the College Football Playoff committee being given the power to declare the top 4 teams overall, they declared Ole Miss the 3rd best SEC team.

Yawn... been there a million times but here is is yet again. The last 11 years the SEC has has between 4-7 AP top-25 teams in the last poll every year, 5+ most seasons. They're 43-20 in bowl games 2007-2013.

ACC by comparison? They are in the range of just 2-4 ranked teams each season with a 22-35 record in bowl games in that same 2007-2013 span.

As far as weaker teams in the SEC goes, which you keep bringing up, name one conference that doesn't have a solid 1/3rd or more of it's teams that consistently stink. There are none.

Is it really uninformed to not consider Missouri the 2nd best team in the SEC? Or even UGA to not be the 3rd best team? Ole Miss played a much tougher schedule than any of the SEC East teams.

I'm not saying other teams don't have bad teams, every conference does. But the SEC IS top heavy. And your 4-7 ranked teams matches up exactly with what I listed. 1 great team, a bunch of good teams every year and a few good every so often. But they also get credit where other conferences don't. Just look at Mississippi State's ascent to #1 on the backs of wins over highly overrated SEC teams. Why were LSU, Texas A&M and Auburn ranked so highly? Because they were in the SEC, not because of their play on the field.

The SEC absolutely gets credit where other conferences do not. Lose to the worst team in your conference: if you're in the ACC, it shows how poor your conference is; in the SEC, it shows how strong the conference is. Just look at the reactions to Arkansas beating LSU and then Ole Miss... it was about how Arkansas was actually a very good team. Georgia Tech loses to North Carolina, and it proves that Georgia Tech just isn't very good.

You have been picking us to lose all season, and it hadn't happen yet so I like our chances.
