Well, it kind of is when you get posts upon posts upon posts saying the exact same thing every 15th of the month (give or take a few days).

Why does it annoy you because people are passionate it about something and want it released by a company they love who have teased it for awhile now? Just skip past the post. Problem solved.

Yes, and isn't that the same Max Richter music that was used in Gattaca at the end? Or maybe I'm thinking of another sci fi film.

Wow, I wish I had the passion you had for going to the theater multiple times in one day!

Well, damn, these new Criterion announcements sound good. The Before Trilogy is the one I'll go for but other than that, I'm not too keen on the other releases.

I stay away until the phantom pages and spoiler tag posts die down. I still like surprises. For this month, I'll get Mildred Pierce, Tree of the Wooden Clogs, and maybe the Almodovar film.

Yeah, same here. And this month I wish I'd added the noir thread to the no fly list but whatayagonnado.

Dear upgrades, I miss you. I'm sorry I made you mad. Please come back. You can start off with The Passion of Joan of Arc and Andrei Rublev, then work on more Bergman, Fellini, Kurosawa and Mizoguchi. That'll make me so happy...anyway. I like The Tree of Wooden Clogs & Mildred Pierce releases but I'm pretty indifferent to the rest.

Cant remember Gattaca but it was used perfectly in Shutter Island!

Nice artwork but I will be passing on this one. Cannot stand Joan Crawford.
May get Women On the Verge..., but not my favorite Almodovar.

Picked up a couple more titles in the B&N sale today. Both blind buys. Was reading the Samurai "Themes" page recently, and thought Samurai Spy sounded a bit different so put in a special order. Also, I'm a big fan of B&W CinemaScope films (or Shochiku GrandScope in this case, to be precise ).

Probably only Mildred Pierce from February's releases for me. Like that cover.

Also saw Arrival at the weekend and echo other praise here. Definitely worth seeing if intelligent science fiction is your thing. Great soundtrack, too.

Mildred Pierce is a fantastic film and I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy. That cover is great!

I'm indifferent on Joan. I love Humoresque but more because of Garfield than Crawford. I'm a guy who loves character actors and Mildred Pierce is a showcase for a few. Eve Arden was one of the great deliverers of snappy dialogue and does it with such ease. It's like poetry with a dash of poison in it when she says it. Jack Carson-this was the first film I saw him not playing a comic role and was quite surprised at how good he was doing drama. Bruce Bennett-a former Olympian turned Tarzan who turned out to be an excellent actor as evidenced in this film and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.

I was actually about to rewatch the Before series with the wife as I just bought the DVDs of 1 and 2 on the cheap. Oh well. Add them (and the Before Midnight blu) to my ever expanding list of coasters.

So I guess the new standard SRP for trilogies is $100 , well 3 films for the usual price of 2 was too good while it lasted, but I can't complain since it is still cheaper than if they were 3 individual titles

Count me in for The Before Trilogy!

In BN 50% off news, I've picked up Chimes at Midnight and Night Train to Munich. And my BN seems to have a new policy on the 20% coupons that come in the mail... the store manager gave the directive not to accept an coupons for the Criterion sale. The 20% email coupons say that specifically, but not the physical mail ones. That really stinks, making think I may not renew my membership if they stop accepting coupons on Criterions. I know I've been lucky to use them, but this stinks. I love stacking the coupons.

I also bought myself a $75.00 gift card, because it came with an additional $10.00 gift card free of charge. I do love Barnes & Noble!

Nice hauls. My BN is starting to crack down on the 20% coupons. No idea why, I used one last week, and then this week no dice.

Honest question: What is it that you guys like about the before trilogy?
When I first read about Before Sunrise I thought it sounded interesting...but after watching the first two I felt nothing/found them kinda "mushy". Maybe thats because I've never been in love and hence i cant relate to their feelings?? :P Come to think of it, I'm not into romances in general, at least not the ones that are so 'centered' around the couple (if that even makes sense)...so i'm wondering if my opinion will change if I give it another chance.
