Not sure how to feel about this. No offense to Dark Force but I think Synapse would've truly done this classic justice. On the other hand, if we can get this done quicker I'm on board. I just hope this legal nonsense doesn't further delay the 4K release. Also, this needs to be BIG. Talking about multiple cuts, lots of extras, great packaging, the works. So far, DF hasn't done anything unique with packaging outside of glow in the dark slips of the flimsy variety. Gotta go bigger, Dave. Congrats on the acquisition - now impress us further

I wonder if Jeff Lieberman had any input. I mean Synapse Films did do a great job with the "Blue Sunshine" 4k UHD. Was there a falling out over something?

I remember someone from Synapse saying in a recent interview that Kino had released it without actually having the rights but it wasn’t their fault. And the director was talking the film up on the most recent Joe Bob marathon. Considering how many films of his Synapse has released I would say they have a good relationship. Most likely he wouldn’t be involved with a release from another company.

I honestly would rather it stayed with synapse. No offense to dark force but synapse releases are typically given far greater care than anything dark force has ever offered. This seems like a bit of a letdown honestly.

I think Lieberman has long disputed Code Red's rights on that title but I don't know the details. I do know that Code Red removed Lieberman from the documentary on the 2019 blu-ray (documentary included Lieberman on the original Media Blasters release).

All September orders containing KONG ISLAND & YOUNG HANNAH have nearly all been shipped. The few remaining orders left will be shipped over the weekend. There were some delays with the complex Drive-In 23 release and from the war with Synapse. We do not expect any further delays. We appreciate your patience.

I do not mean this to sound harsh, but what in the ever loving god is all this? This label is kind of a joke. Website is down constantly. Of the two releases I own in 4K (one I sold) they look beat to crap with little to no restoration done. One mintue they are going out of business/abandoning 4K, the next they're back in and suing labels.

It's surprising that Diabolik would have an issue with Synapse, considering they are one of the few retailers that carry their exclusives (The Convent, Blue Sunshine, Trick Or Treat, etc).
