The criterion selection looks great, but I was left wanting on the TCM side--which is probably a bigger draw as I've seen most of the Criterion Collection (all the bluray collection and a good portion of everything else)

I was joking and half-asleep when I posted this last night, but the more I think about it, the more I can see it actually happening - along with maybe one or two others from James Cameron (your guesses are as good as mine).

1. True Lies has never gotten a proper OAR release, and it's not yet on Blu-ray even after all these years.

2. It's considered one of Arnie's best action movies. (I personally consider it overrated, but it's still good fun.)

3. We've seen Criterion do this before, by presenting what they feel is the "best example" of a certain genre - Robocop, Armageddon, etc. - or whatever reasoning they used to put those into the Collection. (I actually wish Robocop would return, and I'd love for Total Recall - Arnie's best film - to be added too.)

Have there been any clues in any of the previous drawings? No one in their right mind would have been looking for True Lies before, but what if it's been hidden in there all this time?

Yeah, see, there are a ton I am missing. I only have like 55 Criterions. Now, some of those are box sets, so multiple movies obviously. But still. That's a lot that I don't have. Well, I've also got about 25, also including some boxes, in DVD that Criterion hasn't seen fit to upgrade (Bergman trilogy! ).

But that's a lot of stuff that I will enjoy. And at what, $6 a month? Hell, I probably lose that much per month.

I am all for True Lies, but I think the more likely candidate would be The Abyss which would be fine too, both of which is crazy to think that don't have a blu-ray release by now.
