Thanks so much, I guess one of the appeals of the game art was both the simplicity and the incredible detail in the design, and while this doesn't feature the detail it still looks so amazing.

Okay I got a quick question... I have Photoshop and I am trying to do a custom for Defiance... My question for all you great cover artists is this... How do I remove lettering from an image I downloaded and still keep the background in tact?

Like if you look at a movie poster and their is text that says something like "Best Movie Ever" on top of a scenery image how do I remove the text and keep the scenery behind it?

If this makes no sense let me know and I will try to explain it better! Thanks

Ok forgive my ignorance here, but I need a couple custom cover arts, and I'm not sure how to get them. The titles I need are 21 Grams (I have the Canadian release), Almost Famous (I have the UK release), The Bear (I have the French release), Days of Glory (I have the UK release), The Tudors - Season 1 (I have the UK release), and The Tudors - Season 2 (I have the UK release). I need new cover art for the titles, I am a complete novice when it comes to this topic, and do not know where to go from here. I'm not sure if there is a website I can get these off of or not. If not, if someone is willing to make them for me, if I like them, I will pay them via Paypal. Again, I don't know where to go from here, but I have listed what I need.

Most of the time when I do this I use the clone stamp very carefully to make sure it doesn't distort the image. If there is too much detail behind the text or logo, it may not be possible. If there is another way, I am not sure of it yet, I know I don't know everything about photoshop yet.

If posting the image so we can see will help, maybe further advise can be given if you don't know how to properly utilize the clone stamp.

I wanna take out the yellow DEFIANCE and the Explosive Action line with the stars. The clone stamp is what I was thinking as well, but when I use it I always get too much area when I "Alt-click" the clone area I want. Is there a way to change the size of that?

I doubt that image is hi-res enough to reproduce anyway. Web res is 72 dpi. Print res is 300 dpi. So unless the file is pretty large at 72, it will be pixel-y when you try to print it.

Okay, so what should I be typing in for a Google search? Because I typed in "high resolution defiance images" and that came up... also what should I be looking for in dpi?

Use the advanced serch function to limit the sizes of pics that are output i usually look for anything larger then 1024x 768 you will get a lot less hits but they will be of a better quality for cover art

When you search google images you click 'more options' and ask for images larger than say 2mp. I only use those.

Anyone know how I can get my hands on some custom BSG covers that will fit the 21mm 5 disc cases from Vernon Library Supplies? I've come across some great designs, but it seems the largest they go for are the 14mm cases. Any help would be appreciated.

good question. I'm looking for the same thing. My vernon cases arrive today; would love to have some disc art that would fit the cases.

I went with 5 disc cases for all of them, for consistency, even though Season 1 will only have four discs in it.

big dumbwookie, can you help us out here? I found your post with the pics by using the search function on this forum; howver, i can't find those particular covers you printed anywhere on here. Can you or someone else here post the link for those? Are they templated to fit our vernon 5 disc cases already?
