If anyone is looking for a mic stand, I just ordered and received this and it's perfect. I just wanted something cheap since it's not like I run Audyssey very often but is always a pain in the butt when I do so I finally wanted a stand.

Only 13.99 and the screw at the top fits the Audyssey mic perfectly - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093WB67CH...roduct_details

As of this moment I only have the shipping confirmation for Denon's A1H and X4800H receivers.

The shipment will arrive early next week and I'll be putting them both on display/demo in our showroom.

Are you just getting one of each for a demo or will you have stock ?

After a million years of measuring, testing and Calibrating a 4 sub setup with my much loved 4500, I'm wondering how idiot proof, and more importantly, how accurate is the new built in calibration?

Not looking to make any changes to my current setup, but not looking to go through the process again in a few years when the wife and I move to the "retirement " home..

I decided to go over my settings and a few people have mentioned lip sync problems in my theater.

Firstly I found the AVR in eco mode and found there's a auto eco mode and turned all that off.

Then, I turned off auto the the lip sync because that feature is for supported TVs and I don't have a TV and so on... I set the delay to 65ms manually. It was set to almost 200ms when on automatic. I may tune this more but for now I have the 8K upscaling on my projector and I think the delay is at least 45 and looks right to me at 65 for now.

Always fun to audit the settings of complicated gear.

Get that movie Jerry Maguire and go to that SHOW ME THE MONEY scene. Play it over and over and sync it. Then invite your friends back over and do it 100 more times.

Visual reference. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Funny you should say that.

I have the movie and never watched it.

I hear it's good. But, I guess I have no idea what it's about.

What do I do when my new Sony TV doesn't pass Windows surround sound to this new Denon? Every now I only get stereo, even though I have 5.1 selected in Windows.

Turned off devices one by one, switched Windows outputs, finally got "Multi In" back on the receiver display. Wish I knew what causes it.

Multi in is what you want... have you tried playing something encoded in 5.1? It should only use whatever speakers are needed for the content you are watching/listening to. Also hit direct on your AVR remote.

Curious if anyone has any ideas.

I've owned a Denon AVR-S750H for a few years now, no problems.

Recently purchased an XBOX Series X and an LG C2 OLED. While trying to get things setup properly, I discovered the lack of proper HDMI format support that's left me with having to hook the XBOX directly into the TV and use EARC support to return audio to the receiver.

This fixed the HDMI issues and got me up and running with VRR, but as I've been playing various games, the receiver will suddenly shut itself down with a flashing red light. It only ever does this while I'm playing the XBOX. It's never done it before and never does it any other time.

I played around with the audio passthrough settings, switched from bitstream to PCM, among a few other things, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Anybody have any suggestions as to what this TV and/or XBOX could be doing to crash the Denon receiver?

Appreciate any help!

I've got a similar yet different issue. My Denon AVR does support 2.1 features, but my Sony TV can't have VRR and DV active on the same input, so I still have to use eARC for the Xbox audio so I can plug it into a HDMI on the Sony with VRR enabled.

Mine don't shut off though.

That sounds like the self-protection measures are kicking in for whatever reason. My Denon has only ever done that when one of the speakers had a wiring failure with a loose copper strand touching the opposite polarity.

Have you tried tweaking audio output settings in the Xbox? Sounds like you need to do a crapshoot to see if you can identify the issue.

Denon's have a reputation to run "hot" and can get quite warm. With your configuration, it sounds like the amp is being overworked (overheated) and it is going into protection mode by shutting down.

I use a fan on top of my Denon 3800 to keep it cool whenever I use my denon, whether it be playing on the Series X or when I watch movies. Like you, I have an LG TV, Denon AVR and an Xbox Series X.....and have used my fan since day one with my Denon with no issues. I purchased mine from Amazon:

Thanks for the tip!

I ended up figuring out my problem. It had to do with my new TV, but not in the way I suspected. When the delivery men setup the TV, they knocked over my left floor speaker. I decided to double check all of my speaker connections and come to find out, apparently when it fell over, it pulled a speaker wire out that was crossing with the other.

Why it was shorting out the receiver only occasionally and not consistently, I'm not sure. Also not sure why it was always happening when using the XBOX and never when source was being routed through the receiver first (like my roku box, which I use all the time), but at least it makes obvious sense *why* it was shorting out at all...

LOL, I was accidentally right without even suspecting that was the case here.

Glad you got it sorted.

Question, I’m running audysey on my denon 3700H trying to fix some bass issues. And I’ve read that it will help fix any phase cancellation by setting your towers to small instead of large, however, when I run the audysey program it auto defaults my towers to large. Does anyone know a work around with this?

Although not free the Audyssey app will allow you to edit the speaker detection results and simply change the speaker configuration from large to small. I thought this was also doable without the app, but it’s been a while since I’ve tried.

After running Audyssey press the SETUP button on the remote >> select SPEAKERS >> MANUAL SETUP >> SPEAKER SIZE and change the setting to Small for every speaker listed as large. Then move to the Crossover setting, while in manual setup, and change your left/center/right speakers to 80Hz and your surrounds and Atmos speakers to 120Hz as a good starting point. See page 222 in the manual.
