Pretty much.

They're either going to up the level of VOG to 35 and reward players with higher level gear and weapons (which would suck because I have every single VoG gun maxed and I have a total of 3 Fatebringers), or they're going to just make us spend more ascendant materials to get to 365 and Light Level 34. Regardless, it's going to be more repetitive and boring.

Furthermore, the Exotic weapons / gear will apparently just add one more slot to max out to the new level, which I guess I wouldn't mind because I have every exotic (minus the Monte Carlo) and they're all maxed out. Still, I wouldn't care if they hard reset them all again because the only exotics I use are the Don't Touch Me, Helm Of Saint-14, Apotheosis Veil, and Gjallarhorn.

Oh and they postpone the expansion for an additional three months (March - May) just to give us less things than they promised? Cool.

Best night I've had in destiny yet. Got Ice Breaker, Hunger of Crota and raid gear for my hunter. Thanks to all of you that helped on the two raids. Ken, Mega, Lizard and the rest of that crew for the first and Andy, Adam, Dodger and Coldenergy for the second. I enjoyed it.

exactly... I honestly think this game will be forgotten about within 2 years unless Bungie SERIOUSLY overhauls their content system, cuz this is all the work and Grind of an MMO mixed with all the bad parts of Halo with very little of the good

There was supposed to be a raid coming with HoW. It's level is even in the game right now and has been known about for quite some time, just seems that like with the entire Destiny game itself they have decided to rip it out at the last minute.

The HoW Raid was looking like it was going to be one of the better raids, at least the most unique.

If you look at the history of this games development you can see that it was a much grander vision originally, with a plot and backstory integrated in to the actual game. Locations, Factions and integral characters to the story were ripped out just months before release and they hired a guy to come in and write the entire game law just a few months before the game came out, in the form of the poorly implemented Grimoire cards.

They were put in so late that Bungie didn't even have time to implement an in game system to read the cards, instead forcing you to use the app or go online to read them and tell the story of the game.

If they had the time then they could likely have built in a Library in the Tower where you could go to read up on the grimoire cards and learn about the in game law, or at least add an option in the menu.

But like I said, they gutted the entire game months before release so was impossible to do anything about it.

I honestly think if Bungie (or Activision depending on who had the final say) had kept the original game concept together (instead of ripping entire chunks out of it to use as DLC) then the game could very easily have been one of the best ever.

After having spent $60 on the base game and $35-40 on both expansions or however much for the limited edition, how many of you would be okay forking over more than $30 for Comet? Granted the claims are that both of the other expansions will be included but if they came out and said $60 for Comet with both expansions or $50 for just Comet, how many would plunk down?

I already feel ripped off after buying the Ghost Edition. £150 I've already layed down, the season pass should be just that, and contain all the DLC released for the game. I don't think I can recall any other game that has had a season pass then forced out another expansion that's not included in it.

Depending on just how big an expansion Comet actually is and how it's priced will be the deciding factor. And if it includes the raid that was chopped from HoW then I'd be pissed that they were adding content that we already paid for and should have gotten included in the season pass.

Yup. Bungie got greedy and tore the game into pieces so they could stretch it out for a 10 freaking year span. We could have gotten a great game but all we have is fragments of a game that is being doled out way past its expiration

I think they took a risk, if they had kept the game together (taking a hit by not having many "expansions") then they could have had 1 single epic game with a great plot twist to the story and then used sequels to follow up that 10 year plan rather than using DLC. I still see a second game coming though. This DLC and Comet is just bridging the gap between them. I reckon they have a skeleton crew working on the DLC with everyone else working on the full fledged sequel. I don't see any way they can expand on this first release to spread it over 10 years.

But as it stands we seem to have lost that original plot that the game was created around and as a result the final revised game feels very disjointed.

I have to wonder what lead to the games writer leaving Bungie in the first place, and if his leaving meant that contractually the story he wrote for the game couldn't be used.

I still think we got some good aspects to the game, the 392+ Hours I've put in to the game go some way to showing that I enjoyed a lot of aspects of it.

I just wish we got that original story and locations we saw in the pre release ViDocs since from what we have learned so far it sounds much more interesting and engaging than what we ended up with.

I have been browsing around Reddit and the Bungie Forums since the announcement of no new raid and I'm flabbergasted to see that people don't care about a Raid as long as they get a 365 Fatebringer. Like...?

Also, this new Prison of Elders system seems like a horde type mode, which seems like it can get old quickly. I'm looking forward to seeing more information released about it.

Yeah, I've been seeing that a lot. I guess that's all we really need though, since none of the second raid gear weapons really came close to matching the Fatebringer/VoC.

Maybe dropping the raid was for the best. Although the thought of having to take on 2 walkers in a confined room did sound like fun.

Prison of Elders does indeed seem like a horde mode. I'm not the biggest fan of those but I guess we'll see.

I'm more exited for the Trials. I've been reading about it since last year and I can't believe it's taken this long to come.

I wonder if the rules still stand;

To enter Trials of Osiris, players need to spend 1 Mote of Light each. Players can keep playing as long as they keep winning. As soon as the player loses 3 times, they will need to spend another Mote of Light to enter.

Guess I'll finally have something to spend Motes on.

I wasn't too bothered about them not having a Raid as I rarely have time to do them and I'm too looking forward to the Trails but as you said earlier, I feel sorry for those that do spend a lot of time in Raids. For them to take out the Raid after people paying for a season pass which promised them this content is wrong. Yes, they could add the Raid at a later date but will they still have the players?

This. My friend and I met some cool dudes from DT and we formed a clan, where we have been eagerly anticipating going into the new raid blind and spending all day on it, but so much for that idea.

It's bad enough that we only play on Tuesdays because more than one day for us has been getting pretty boring lately. I can only imagine what happens when HoW drops.
