Vertical videos can easily be played on Android boxes connected to a TV. Many phones and tablets can also be connected to TVs. Quibi doesn't even have the capability of making them only play on phones and tablets and there is no reason why they would want to.

Nope. Deffo exclusive to mobile. It’s rumoured the app will have interactive elements at times, how would that work?

Also, if people were doing what you suggest, that would mean the service is disrupting long form. You guys are tying yourselves up in knots now.

No, it is just another form of content. The world is a big varied place with billions of people who enjoy lots of different things. There is no chance that everyone who enjoys long movies and TV shows is going to switch over to just watching mobile videos or die off. Short videos and long videos can both make billions of dollars and co-exist.

And I know this is just anecdotal evidence but every person I know (ranging from about 5 years old up to around 90 years old) watches movies and TV shows on a TV. I've never met a single person who exclusively watches things on their phone or tablet.

Anytime anything new is marketed for anyone, you ALWAYS cite that as some type of bizzarro proof that movies, TV shows, the aspect ratios of both, and even TVs themselves are in grave danger. Bringing something new to the market does not automatically kill what was already there despite your obsessive insistence to the contrary.

Hmmm...let’s see, Outlander is a Stars exclusive that’s been released on DVD, Game of Thrones is a HBO exclusive that’s been released on DVD/BD. As has Stranger Things and a few other Netflix exclusives Steedeel. So what PenguinInfinity said is closer to the truth than your mad predictions.

I was never a big fan of the previous Star Trek series but I highly recommend Discovery (on physical media).

I’ve heard good things and love the lead actress. Unfortunately I barely have time to sit down and watch a show, movie or play a game. I usually watch old Match Game episodes on YouTube or listen to music on Spotify in my spare time or meals. Of course right now, instead of doing any of that I’m sitting here in my carport having a beer and arguing online with the last kid to be picked at dodge ball
