True. The SEC blows. Only 7 national titles in 9 years. They suck!

i'm still proud of my team. they over-accomplished in some regards as many thought they wouldn't win as many games as they did.

we won our conference, of which i'm extremely proud.

congrats to the OSU Buckeyes and to the Oregon Ducks for being the first 2 teams in the first-ever (Div. 1) college football playoff championship game.

Any guesses on the national championship? I'll go with Oregon 41 OSU 28.

Oregon expected to open a 6.5 point favorite for anyone wondering.

I said most of the year that the SEC was overrated in 2014, mostly due to poor QB play.

Yea, under the BCS system which clearly didn't always get it right. If we were still using the BCS system, neither Oregon or Ohio State would have made the championship and Alabama probably would have destroyed Florida State giving the overrated SEC yet another title.

Just shows how flawed that system was at picking the supposed best teams. I don't even think we got the best four teams this year. They need to expand the playoffs for sure, only way they are guaranteed to get all the top teams in there without computers or committees screwing it up.

You don't have to tell me the system blows. I've despised the BCS system since it's inception in 1998 and I still don't like the 4 team system. I'm looking forward to the inevitable 8 team playoff. That being said it is what it is. National champions are determined by the system we have rather than the system we want. The teams that won in the BCS era were national champions. Hell, when I was a teenager I remember the pre-BCS era which was even worse since there was no title game of any kind and we frequently had co-champions.

Considering how lethargic Bama was today it's entirely possible even FSU may have beaten them if it were the old top-2 format.

Hopefully Harbaugh sticks it out in Michigan for many years, as does Meyer at OSU. There could finally be a legit Big-Ten rivalry again between Michigan and OSU again. Not likely those guys stay for long, but possible. I do think this is Meyer's best season as a head coach. He's pulled off a run to the title game with 3 QB's.

Okay, glad we're on the same page then! I hope you're right about the 8 team playoff, but considering how long it's taken college football to get anywhere near a fair system, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

It won't be quick. The United States Congress acts faster than the college football playoff system. It took like 70+ years just to get a national title game and another 17 years to expand to 4 teams. I'd be shocked if an 8 team playoff develops any sooner than 5-10 years. But it'll happen... eventually.

i'm definitely in favor of an 8-team playoff and have wondered since they announced the 4-team model why they didn't go with 8.

i'd love to see power 5 conference winners and 3 at-large.

it would be way more exciting than just 1 extra game for those who make the "playoffs" now.

This should be a hell of a title game. I do think this has been some amazing coaching by Meyer and his staff. Down to their #3 quarterback and beating Alabama. Very impressive.

After watching those games yesterday I still think TCU could beat any of them, and only Oregon should be favored against them at a neutral field.

Unfortunately TCU wouldn't even have been there, since Baylor "beat" them.

That game still bothers me, with officiating having 3 calls/no calls going Baylor's way in the final couple minutes of the game, all of which were of the massively game-changing variety. Do I ever hate Pass Interference as defined.

The impression the Sugar Bowl left me with was just how underrated a QB A.J. McCarron was. I know that may sound weird, but Blake Sims showed that despite always having great football talent on the roster, the Alabama quarterback still has to be an elite player who makes all the right decisions as well as the right throws. Sims is a very good player, but not a top-tier QB.

And love Meyer or hate him, to be able to take a team to the title game with the third string QB show the man can friggin' coach.

January 12th can't come soon enough for me.
