Yeah, hopefully we don't have to wait too long for it. Take the Power 5 conference winners, highest Mid Major, and 2 wildcards. They should have gone to 8 teams from the beginning. Like Chad said last night, they'll probably make us wait at least 5 years for it now.

How good is Mariota seriously? The guy torched FSU with his legs and arm. God I hope the 5 teams ahead of us in the draft find a way to screw this up, and we have the good sense to take him!

Wont happen anytime soon, they are content with the 4 team playoff system and we are lucky we got that. Granted 8 would be best and start it with the big 4 bowls, then the following week top 4 play, then the week before the super bowl College Championship is played that's how I would do it.

I wouldn't automatically include a mid-major. This year Boise State was the best mid-major but with 2 losses and no great wins Boise didn't do enough to merit a spot in a hypothetical 8-team playoff. At the very least I'd include rules like the BCS had where a mid-major had to be in the top 12 or top 16 and ranked ahead of a power 5 champion.

I think UCF should have been in the playoff last year.

I'm not sure we'd have made a playoff last year even in an 8 team format. UCF was only #15 in the final BCS rankings and 15 and 16 in the final human polls.

Mariota may be good, but he might also be terrible. He's running a very specific offense that only 1 team in the NFL is even close to using.

I see the arguments from both sides, but I see a faster Russell Wilson. I think he will be better than Winston. Mariota has mastered his system. What says he can't master a different system. His professionalism and work ethic is amazing.

Mariota is certainly no sure thing. I'm sort of unsure if what we're seeing is the product of the Oregon system or a legit solid NFL QB. You can plug pretty much any decent QB into the ORegon offense and he'll put up huge numbers. I'd lean toward him being a solid NFL QB, potentially star and would almost certainly take him #1 if I'm Tampa.

I do think Winston has a somewhat higher ceiling than Mariota. Problem is I just don't see him achieving that ceiling due to his numerous "issues." That's why I doubt Tampa takes him over Mariota unless he REALLY has a great combine and impresses Bucs management. I do think Tennessee takes Winston #2.

Almost every mock draft I'm seeing has Cooper to Oakland. Makes the most sense.

Winston looks nice in the pocket, and generally knows when to scramble. But his decision making on passes reminds me of Favre. Way too many terrible decisions.
