My 4K copy of Nightmare Circus wouldn't play, unfortunately. I reached out to DF and they sent me another copy but that one was also unplayable. Tried them on two different players with similar results. The second copy was actually a little worse. Bummer, as they turned out a great looking resto. The BD copies played fine.

That sucks. I popped mine into a PS5 and it seemed to start/play fine. I skipped around a little and there didn't seem to be any problems. Haven't given it the full watch yet though.

We told you Driver it's YOUR PLAYERS!! The replacement disc we sent you that you claimed was worse was used on all of the Dark Force Live Feeds where we previewed big segments of the 4K on the Facebook page. Go take a look if you have any doubt. Hundreds of that title has been shipped with ZERO problems. For the money they charge us to author and replicate 4K releases we would CRUCIFY them if there was an issue with defects like that. And everyone now knows what can happen when it comes to legal battles with us. Nonetheless we will not ship you anymore 4K releases as there is obviously something going on with your players.

Don't worry about it Brads all the discs on that title are FINE and it's a pretty cool flick.

hey dave, what’s the situation with neon maniacs? are those rights still with cr/df? if so, what are the odds of getting a 4k?

Driver78 is actually a very good customer of ours. The 4K discs are known to have issues on certain players, likely older ones but I did straighten him out with regards to dealing with any issues he may have with orders. Nightmare Circus aka Terror Circus has been a stellar 4K release for us that has been very well received. I was thrilled with the amazing quality we were able to achieve on the movie which came out in 1973!!! Very fun brutal horror flick and the slip is awesome.

Amazingly April is upon us and our releases so far this year has been extremely low output compared to normal. Of course you can thank Mr. Vlado P. Hreljanovic and his mighty Redoak bullshit lawsuit and those A*@#$holes over at Synapse, for their lawyer/partner's involvement with the suit which is taking a huge amount of our time and money that could have been going towards the new releases. I will say though a very BIG surprise is about be announced regarding Dark Force probably sometime next week. So keep tuned.

Hey Jope, hope you are having a better weekend than I am. Another great question regarding a very popular release that I thought Scorpion put out but it might have been CR. Now that you have reminded me I will definitely check into that title as it would make an excellent 4K release for us. It's a very visually colorful movie which works really well with the HDR.

Hopefully a colorful movie like that will be coming from Synapse. They do great work with colorful movies

IIRC, people here have said that Scream Factory currently holds the rights for Neon Maniacs but have no plans for a physical release.

I had to buy a german release of Neon Maniacs to get it in my collection, i would double dip for some special features tho, that movie rules

Did anyone purchase Deadly Kung-Fu Factor, Golden Triangle, or Shadow Fist Hunter? If so, how are they? Picture, language tracks, etc. I've never bought a movie from this label before, but those three I'm interested in buying. If anyone has any firsthand experience with those films, please share. Like I said in November 2023, which was the last time I asked about it. I don't really mind waiting but I just don't want to be waiting in vein.

I just hope Leo Fong's passing hasn't made the project more difficult. Not least because it would be a great tribute to the man, to have one of his most interesting films get the release it deserves.

I remember hearing a couple years back that DF said there were no elements to scan for low blow. Don't have anything to quote for that though.

My Black Friday order (which includes The Farmer 4k) has shipped and is now inbound. Excellent!! Meanwhile, I had ordered extra copies of the Nightmare Circus 4k set last week to help break up the wait, and it already arrived. I flipped through it for a cursory glance and the uhd played flawlessly on my Panny 9000. From just a cursory preview, the underlying 4k transfer looks great. The color palette, contrast, and depth are all excellent on the new master. I’ll give it a proper watch later tonight and scrutinize the compression properly. In all, I’m pretty happy with it so far. It has easily exceeded my conservative expectations.

I don’t think The Farmer is shipping. I got my BF order too the other day but THE FARMER was missing.
