That's crazy, my brother said the same thing. He will win you some and lose you some the way he plays.

BRISTOL, Conn. -- The first College Football Playoff semifinals drew the two largest audiences in cable television history.

ESPN had a 15.2 rating and averaged 28,271,000 viewers for its Allstate Sugar Bowl broadcast Thursday night after drawing a 14.8 rating and averaging 28,164,000 viewers for the Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual, Nielsen said Friday.

Both games had significant increases from last year on ESPN, when the Rose Bowl had a 10.2 rating and averaged 18,636,000 viewers and the Sugar Bowl had a 6.6 rating and averaged 11,304,000 viewers.

ESPN also will broadcast the Jan. 12 College Football Playoff National Championship presented by AT&T between Oregon and Ohio State. The network has drawn the 18 largest audiences in cable TV history and 36 of the top 40.

Despite technical problems during the Rose Bowl, WatchESPN averaged 864,000 unique viewers for the two games.
Those are some big numbers.

I don't know what to make of him for the draft. Some games he looks NFL ready, and at other times it looks like it would be in his best interest to stay at UCLA another year.

Why did I decide to work on a bowl day Stupid ESPN app keeps buffering and freezing. Not to mention is about 30 seconds behind the feed.

Those are some big numbers.
The NHL made a stupid decision in scheduling their big yearly Winter Classic game on the same day as many major college football bowls, including the playoff semi-finals. Ratings for that event was down about 20% from the prior year. I usually watch that game each year but didn't even know it happened until it was over yesterday.

I'd lean toward him being a solid NFL QB, potentially star and would almost certainly take him #1 if I'm Tampa.

I do think Winston has a somewhat higher ceiling than Mariota. Problem is I just don't see him achieving that ceiling due to his numerous "issues." That's why I doubt Tampa takes him over Mariota unless he REALLY has a great combine and impresses Bucs management. I do think Tennessee takes Winston #2.
See I can understand everyone saying it's the Oregon system, but look how well Mariota has played. 3 INT all season is amazing on top of all the other numbers. I see an NFL QB.

Winston is another question. Where is the growth? I see regression. Mariota has shown growth throughout his college career. Winston not so much. I see flaws. His delivery is not crisp. His decision making leaves you scratching your head. I see bust.

Harbaugh is trying to nab Vince Marrow from Kentucky. Really tough decision for him to stay or leave, honestly. I really hope he makes a statement and sticks around with us. It will be hard to turn down that offer though but it will be just as hard to leave the guy that gave him his big break.

He will be a huge loss for us if he goes. That grouped in with Damien Harris probably going to Bama and it will be a bad start to the year for Wildcats fans.

The INT number is impressive, but the system also results in less risky situations. Look at past Oregon QBs.... 2008 was the last year they threw more than 9 in a season.

And look at how Foles did last year. The team had some OLine problems this year that resulted in less time and more INTs though. But everything is tougher in the NFL.

Winston had terrible receivers this year after Greene, who didn't bother to show up in the biggest game of the year for them. The FSU receiving corps were terrible after Greene, often dropping passes that hit them in the chest. Winston looks much better this year, if he had last year's talent on offense with him.

Mariota is an excellent college QB but I don't see him as a great pocket passer, which is how you win in the NFL unless you have Seattle's monster defense.

Thank you, nobody's is considering that. Everyone wants to talk about this season and not last season when he had more then two people to throw the ball to, so he threw a lot ints trying to get it to those players. Don't get me wrong he made some bone head throws this year but all those ints where not on him.

It's somewhere in the middle. Last year he had such a huge supporting cast. Look at Benjamin. Quality NFL WR. It seems he requires a large supporting cast to be that good like last year. Who on the Oregon offense is a Benjamin type player? I don't see it.

I know you are an FSU fan so you'll defend Winston no matter what, but he's not a quality NFL QB. I would never compare him to Brett Favre. That ludicrous IMO. I know you didn't make that comparison. Just one that I saw being made.

Oregon doesn't exactly have amazing WR either.

To indicate Russell Wilson needs to be a pocket passer to win is an archaic viewpoint. Let's see how well these mobile QBs do in the playoffs. I bet Cam beats Arizona today. RG3 was ruined by Shanny. Kapernick played in a Super Bowl. He struggled this year, but he's still quite young, so he can improve.

I see Mariota better than all of these players mentioned. He might not instantly show it year 1, but give it time. He will be.

ESPN kills me. They put up a stat that the SEC west was 35-0 in the regular season against non-SEC opponents, and 2-5 in the bowls.

Because the former is totally the same thing as the latter. Because we all know there is no difference between playing Samford and Lamar as Ohio State and TCU.

I can't think of a single useful point to that stat.

Reread my Favre comment. It's not comparing talent... it's comparing decision making. Both try and force passes into impossible holes.
