I agree. I had ordered one back in August or September but then it went out of stock shortly after my order. Got some emails about it not going to ship...blah blah blah. Eventually amazon.de cancelled and the steel was OOP for a few months.. I'm praying I get it this time.

Just an FYI for those of you who actually open and watch their SteelBooks, discs 1 & 2 say Region B but they are playable in U.S. players...

Thanks. I've seen the BIN on ebay for a few months. I nearly bit on it a couple of times. Glad I waited since I saved myself about $30.

Eh, it's not that expensive, especially if you don't have any of the movies yet. I just checked it, and it is $34.45 Euros without the VAT (listed at $40.99 Euros now). With Shipping, it comes out to $48.45 Euros, or $68.29 US. That comes out to $22.76 US per film. If it was ordered back when it was $34.99Euros, then it'd be a few US$ cheaper per film.

The Underworld Trilogy Region A Box Set is $48.00 on amazon right now, or $16.00 US per film. Comparing both sets, it's only $6.72 US extra per film ($22.76 - $16.00), and the SteelBook takes up less space than the US Trilogy Release. Oh, and DUH! It's a SteelBook! Paying an extra $6.72 per film for a SteelBook is pretty cheap if you ask me, and it is less if it was ordered before the price jumped to $40.99 Euros. If it is ordered with some other SteelBooks, then the price difference drops even more 'cos the $14.00 Euros for shipping can be spread among the other SteelBooks as well.

That being said, it would be nice if it was to drop in price.

Actually 13.33 EUR isn't such a great deal since you only get one case for the 3 movies.
$18.26 USD for each disc is $54.79 for the set, it's not cheap.

My 2 cent

If we are talking about the cheapest option, then obviously the $48.00 Region A Set is going to be the best way to go, and if I was going to go with that one, I'd wait for another price drop on it. For right now, paying an extra $20.29 to get it in a SteelBook is not that much when it is broken down per film, and to say that it is "VERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY expensive" is a bit of an exaggeration, I think. If it is ordered from Germany with just 1 or 2 other SteelBooks, then the price comparison would be less since the $14.00Euros would not be tagged onto just one SteelBook. When I compared what it would cost someone that does not have any of these films in their collection, paying a little more per film to add a nice SteelBook to their collection does not seem that bad. I mean, you can either pay $16.00 per film with the $48.00 Box Set, or pay $22.76 per film or $68.29 for the SteelBook. Comparing a regular release to a SteelBook is kind of an odd thing to do though for me, since most of the time, the SteelBook is almost always going to cost more to get, whether you import it or simply drive to your local Best Buy or Futureshop and pick it up yourself. If I wanted to always go with the cheapest option, then I would not be collecting SteelBooks at all.

Just for fun, I checked on what it would cost to order 2 copies of the Underworld Trilogy SteelBook. It comes out to $82.90 Euros with shipping, or $116.86 US. That makes it $58.43 US each. If you sell the 2nd copy for exact cost, then it would cost a little over $10 more to get the SteelBook ($58.43 vs. $48.00). Sell the 2nd copy for about $68.00, and the cost to obtain the SteelBook is about the same as the Region A Box Set. Selling off the 2nd SteelBook should be easy enough to do for $59-$68.00.

And I find it funny that I'm even quoting tiger of all people here. One SteelBook to house the same # of blu-ray discs vs. a larger cardboard slip box with three plastic cases. If I had to choose, I'd go with the SteelBook on that one. I still don't have this one, and I'm trying to keep myself from getting it 'cos I want the 1st and 3rd film to get their own SteelBook release like Underworld Evolutions did. Nice to see you sticking to your guns with not importing anymore SteelBooks.

I purchased T3 with Underworld trilogy. Whether it was a good or bad deal, I decided to pay the price.

mr. b I have no clues what you guys are talking about.. have you read clearly tiger_qc quote?? OneEye was the one who started saying it's expensive. Then I told him 13,33 EUR is very cheap blu-ray movie in Europe market!
Then I was joking with stlcards using OneEye words.

Like I said 10.000 of times in my country new release cost 30 EUR.. the same applys to France & German.. more or less.. so 13 is bargain!

Victor is right here. It is difficult to come across €13 BDs in Germany, even in Amarays.

If you look at it as 3 indvidual Films, it's cheap. If you look at it as just 1 Steelbook, it's not so cheap

LOL! Sorry victors, I just realized you put a smiley wink at the end of that statement saying it was VERYYYYYY... expensive. I should have known you were being sarcastic. My bad! In any case, 13 Euros is a freakin' bargain compared to 30 Euros. It would be nice, though, if the price for the Underworld Trilogy SteelBook dropped to 30 Euros, then it'd be 10 per film.

American Baron correct! I hate boxset release.. Transporter, Underworld, Resident Evil, etc.. as my goal is to collect the SB and not enjoy the movie so for me it's just a another SB (no matter how many disc inside).
