Got my U.S. version of the "international version" today. It's the full 288 minute cut with parts 1 and II on seperate discs. and yes it IS 2.35:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD MA 5.1 Mandarin language tracks with english subtitles (both regular and SDH)

Amazon delivered my International version today.

Weird thing was, it didn't have any shrink wrap, just the little sticker on the top.
The disc's were intact though.

Has that ever happened to anyone else?

Odd. I wonder why that is.

It is listed on Amazon's site, not sure why? But yes, it appears they are not shrink wrapped for whatever reason.

Cantonese? I'm pretty sure all version of the film are in Mandarin. Even the DVD and Blu-ray releases of it in Hong Kong were all Mandarin tracks

I finally saw a trailer for this. My jaw sorta hit the floor and I was all "Oh, so this is what they've all been talking about on the forum." I went ahead and ordered the International Version from Amazon.

I'll be watching my copy of the U.S. International Version today. I also purchased from Amazon, but my copy came in a clear wrapper.

Uh, there were tons of miscasts. Practically the entire cast.

Best Buy has the US version, but not the International Version. I personally bought both, as they almost play out like different films. I go back and forth on which I like better. Sometimes, the US version almost feels like it flows a little better, but I usually come back to reality and enjoy the International version more. But if you want to watch just one film, and haven't seen the film yet, I'd personally rent or buy the less expensive US version first, as it's shorter and probably better suited for those who can't really sit down to watch both films.

P.S. if only these had gotten a Criterion release ala Che. *drools*

The reviewer only got the short version screener, so he is getting the long edition today so it'll be up asap

I know price is a big consideration for a lot of people (me too) , but I don't regret having the Hong Kong 288 minute version.
It's refrence material all the way , with 7.1 audio in all 3 codecs

I want to see this but i am not exactly a fast reader and i don't want to miss the movie so does this movie have lots of talking or is it like Hero(not to much i was able to keep up). I know this is a stupid question but i don't want to have to keep rewinding to catch things i missed.
