I've actually watched a few now. They aren't on Blu, but they count regardless.

Zombieland (6/10) - I think it was overhyped for me. I love zombie movies and there was barely any zombie action until the end of the film. The rest was like a road trip movie with a bad love story on the side. Bill Murray rules though - his scene should have been longer. Could've been better.

The Goods (4.5/10) - This was incredibly stupid, but there were parts that I laughed at. I'm convinced Jeremy Piven cannot play any other type of character though. Also, that woman (she's on the cover and Adam Scott's wife in "Step Brothers") pisses me off to no end. She can't act and her trying to be funny is painful.

2012 (6.5/10) - All I really wanted to see was stuff blow up and explode and I got that and then some. The acting was really cheesy and so were the cardboard characters, but I did feel for a few people and that's more than you can say for "The Day After Tomorrow." It was exciting, but WAY too long.

Sherlock Holmes (7/10) - This was like a brawler film. I wanted a tad bit more mystery to the proceedings, but it was harmless fun. Downey Jr. and Law were having a great time and it was light, breezy fun.

Turbulence - Came out in 1997 starring Ray Liotta & Lauren Holly. Pretty much a popcorn action flick. Decent overall but nuthin to scream about. 3/5 Got Em!!

I watched the Hurt Locker. I would give it an 8/10. I thought I was going to be blown away by the praise it is getting but i was a little underwhelmed. I did however love the cameos by Fiennes and Guy Pierce. And it had great acting by everyone in that movie. It was very suspenseful but the movie didn't really hit me emotionally like say a war movie such as Saving Private Ryan did. I liked it but some parts felt kind of boring to me. Definitely not better than Inglourious Basterds. If Hurt Locker wins best picture at the golden globes and the oscars over IB i will definitely be disappointed.

Schlinder's List - 5/5

-forgot how good this was. its been 10 yrs since i've seen it. definitely top 25 and probably top 15.

-why dont more directors do films today in black and white? assuming it fits the period? for example, revoluntioary road and changeling? just a thought. seems like Raging Bull and Schlinder's have become 2 of the best films all-time. ok, not just b/c they're in B&W, but hey, its a positive jinx

-i really really really wish this would have been done in German audio with English subs. oh well. i guess spielberg didnt think it was mainstream enough. too bad. you always have the same problem: you'll hear english most of the time and german some of the time...is the viewer to consider them the same? different? huh?

-great performances all around. as everyone knows, just gut-wrenching story. still amazing to think it was only 65 years ago. virtually seconds on a historical scale. IMO easily Spielberg's best film. why didn't he do more serious dramas? seems like he did mostly action or sci-fi. i guess Private Ryan is an action-drama, and a great one at that.

Black and white definitely does make for a good movie. There was a black and white version of The Mist and it actually did make that movie better. Frank Darabont originially wanted to do it in black and white but I guess chickened out. Most directors are probably afraid black and white will detract viewers.

Last movie I can remember that was black and white through and through was Good Night and Good Luck. It made just north of 30 million so it wasn't a complete audience detractor but it may have made some difference to the public. Also, being a great film didn't hurt it either.

Yea...Idk I would say Hurt Locker is better than IB, Tarantino is a decent director but just not as original as he could be, although his dialogue always has me watching and Waltz's character is outstanding

You are right. The Changling would have been fantastic in B&W.

Moon 10/10

Absolutely loved it. Don't really want to give anything away, but it's easily one of the best sci-fi films of all time and features an incredible performance by Rockwell, who deserves a nomination for this.

Movie 10/10
PQ 8/10

Transformers 2 = garbage

Movie 1/10

PQ 8/10
AQ 9/10

Acting, characters, story, writing etc ..are all trash. The Transformer designs themselves are just ugly. Some of the worst CG battles I've ever seen. They did a good job of making the battles look like a lifeless mess.

Kingdom of Heaven 8/10

Highly under-rated, but more than likely due to the hacking on the editing table for the theatrical release (that has now been restored in the Director's Cut)

PQ and AQ were also fantastic

Watched The Bourne Identity for the first time on Blu-ray. Absolutely fantastic. Hope to watch The Bourne Supremacy tonight, and then The Bourne Ultimatum on Saturday. Love those flicks!

Completely agree, just watched it last night.

Watched Funny People on Sunday night, was good, not great as well. District 9 I also watched on Sunday (second viewing) and it still holds up well.

Not to say I've seen all the trilogies in the world, but from the few I've seen The Bourne Trilogy is easily the best one I've seen so far. All 3 films are fantastic and have some great moments of dialogue - not to mention the wickedly intense action and combat.

Although I also have the POTC trilogy, the Bourne one supercedes it by a long shot IMO. I've seen them all several times, but to finally see them on Blu-ray is like watching them again for the first time. I am very, very pleased with this purchase.

Rob Zombie's Halloween 2. Liked the first 20+ minutes, until the gimmick then it fell flat for me. Bad script in my opinion, bad acting,Michael has turned into a Hippie Hulk, and on and on. I enjoy Zombie's work, but just not this one.
The killings are viscious and good but that's about it.

Great sound on BD 4/5 + Great picture on BD 4/5
Movie 2.5/5 for the first 20+ minutes and a few viscious killings.

The Fountain.

Movie: 5/5---my favorite film of all-time, as many on this site know. It gets better with each subsequent viewing and I notice things that support my personal interpretation each time.

PQ: 4/5--my first time viewing it on blu. MAJOR upgrade over the dvd. The film will never look great and there is a distinct lack of depth in the film and not an over-abundance of detail. However, I think the film still looked good and I was pleased.

AQ: 4.5/5---not a film that will work the system, but still very good. Dialogue was very crisp. Great ambiance and surround activity in the jungle scenes. Nice explosion of sound in the concluding "transformation" scene.

Extras: No rating. However, the extra which is nothing but the chemical reactions used in the film set to Clint Mansell's beautiful score is the single best bonus feature I've come across on blu yet. Only 5 minutes long, but completely and utterly beautiful.

Overall: This film single-handedly negates the ill-informed and ridiculous claims made by ppl that there is no creativity left in Hollywood and films in general. This film shows that there are films of almost indescribable beauty and meaning that have the ability to be created.
