Someone posted on the Hot Deals forum thread that they believed OVERBOARD is a 50GB BD, but no extras listed (Unless they are on the disc but not mentioned?) Otherwise the transfer if not messed with should be decent.
Overboard always had a slightly dirty film look to it as wells as some scenes grainier than others. I will pick this up afterwork. The price isn't bad at all. |

Picked this up from Target along with Four Weddings and a Funeral. PQ in Overboard is very strange. More than grainy, it reminded me of some blown up smaller video with a lot of noise. Color is kind of washed out as well but that may be how the movie is originally. However, Im not dissapointed, I found it worth to upgrade this film in any way. There is nothing like enjoying good old Goldie Hawn in HD. I hope we get to see Private Benjamin or other Goldie Hawn titles in the near future.
Just wanted to comment on PQ for those interested. |

I do own the WS laserdisc version I may put it in the player and check out the image differences for grain. (HD always shows off grain more so for sure) I would have to give the image between a 4 and a 4.5 IMO |

picked up A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS, A FEW DOLLARS MORE, and THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN this morning--
they are all out of the floor and tagged at $9.99 this was nice since I already have GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY so I didn't have to double dip and it also saved me on THE MAGNIFENT SEVEN since it was the only title I wanted from the set-- ![]() |

I picked up a copy today at my local Super Target for $9.99. The last one on the rack! The disc is BD50 with DTS-HD 5.1 audio. The extras include "Audio Commentary with Filmakers", "Deleted Scenes, "Making of..." featurette and "Two Actors and a Director" featurette.

Picked up HONEYMOON IN VEGAS today and took a brief skim to check it out.
Only special feature on this BD is a theatrical trailer. English 2.0 surround DTS-HD Master Audio (Spanish mono and French mono). The back lists this as a single layer 25GB disc with an AVC encode at 32mbps. PQ is so-so. Inconsistent. Some shots are buzzing with grain, others are much sharper. If I had to compare it to another BD, I'd say it looks a bit like the first PREDATOR disc -- lots of grain with some occasional softness (especially titles and opticals, etc.) Or maybe even similar to GHOSTBUSTERS which many people find too grainy. Personally I like it -- I'd much rather have the grain than some DNR smear job. I detected very little digital manipulation, no edge halos etc. This movie has never gotten much love, and this is easily the best I've seen it since it was released in theaters in 1992. I'm going to create an individual thread for this movie, as each of these titles probably needs its own. |
