i haven't been following the thread too closely but see that there are some steel's coming for the trilogy.

is there any word of a release date yet??

Yes, once Joe Johnston finishes on Captain America.

He says it'll be the start of a new new Jurassic Park trilogy, so I suppose releasing this by itself is alright and there won't be any need to double dip.

No word on a release date as yet, but it does seem there'll be 3 different versions released.

OK, I can understand the sequels, but the original is a classic.

But even though you don't like it, why would you wnat to see it in HD, ithey're the same films.

I found it predictable and slightly boring. If I have time to think through the science the film presents then the film isn't working for me. I just think that the picture and audio quality on this release would be reference material, not that I'd enjoy the actual film.

Well don't think about the science of it and you might enjoy it more.

Honestly though, I don't think this'll be reference material and I would never buy a Blu-ray based simply on that. If I don't enjoy I don't buy it, so I would sugest don't spend your hard earned cash on it if you don't enjoy it.

You should read the book the science of the whole thing is delved deeply into. If I remember there are charts and diagrams for the whole dinosaur making experiment. It was way to complicated for me!

Yeah, but Jurassic Park 4 probably won't come out until 2014 at the earliest, so I wouldn't worry about it. And as I said, it's the start of a new trilogy, so it you wouldn't really need to double-dip as the two wouldn't necessarily go together.

I've been following JP4 for a while now. It's one of those on-again-off-again movies., just like Police Academy 8 (which I so hope will happen)

LMAO. Come on, it wasn't that bad. OK 7 was terrible, but damn it, I like those movies, and can't wait for 8, or a future BD release. 8 is in the script stages atm. Long live PA. As for JP4, we'll have to see. I hope it'll be good.

guess I'll be the one to back you up here, love 'em. Though the last few were dire so I'm highly sceptical about any more they plan to make

There isn't enough words to describe how terrible PA7 was. I had to force myself to watch it just for the sake of completion. All the others were OK, hoping for a Blu-ray set in the near future.

Bring on Jurassic Park IV, but like PA 8, and SC3, it's unlikely to be released any time soon, assuming it actually gets made. It's been in development hell for years, like the others. I'll get the BD set, and be happy with it for now.

I remember 5 being the turning point. it was ok at the time....but I was like 12. lol
3 was the first I ever saw and will always be my fave

According to the thread in the wishlist forum, this is the collectors edition they're getting in Spain this year for the Jurassic Park Trilogy:

I have to say it look's awesome, I hope we get it in the UK too and not just a tin like the BTTF one.

I spotted those yesterday as well. Not sure how fine the package is though. I had a look around and found what must be mock-ups.

The Spanish site has them down for a late November/Christmas release, so I'd imagine we'll get some news soon if we're to follow suit.
