Gears of War 3 Epic Edition

I hope to be on tonight and the TB tag is pretty fun. I played a few rounds the other night and had a ball. Not too many hot shots playing it though. So I was able to survive a bit more than usual. I also might be on later this afternoon when my son is down for a nap. Have to play that one by ear though, I can never predict if he's going to go down for the wife or I have to assist.

I would go for the triple pack if i was you...you get gears 1 and 2 and all of the downloadable map packs for 29.99...unless you have gears 1 already or the map packs that iz..

Hated the beta at first. Game got so much better as I played more. Already have Gears on preorder mainly for campaign and horde/beast mode but now I'm actually looking forward to the multiplayer in retail.

Played gears 1 when it came out for like a year everyday...haven't played it since late '07 early '08......I just bought gears 2 about 1.5 to 2 weeks ago (gears 1 loved it) gears 2 is a piecer imo....wall tags...maps...raining glass???wtf........99% of the time I died was host or ridiculous..plus like 65% of my downs are stolen (mostly always the kill leader too)so I have sent like 100 messages to people that say thief ........after playing gears 3 beta it seems way better than 2...I am no longer afraid to rush in with a shotty even against multiple people...my shotgun seems to be invisiible in gears 2 and I have doubts going against even 1 person and it seems less laggy in general ....
I think the sniper worse though...but i would never go back to gears 2 if 3 beta was going until it came out

same here the first match i played the other team was 5 feet away from our spawn the whole time and with 2 hammer of dawns and i had a .6 kill death ratio after the first hour now its at 1.3 i just rush up the gut with the shotgun whole time....it took about a week to know the maps on gears 2 and it took me like 2 hours on gears 3

Looks like I will be passing on the LE and Epic editions. I wanted a steelbook and more in game content. The infected omen pack sounds cool but I don't think I'll be replacing the flaming and gold unlocks.

Sticking with my Amazon preorder of the regular edition ($60 with $20 credit) for now.

I guess a decent statue sounds better than some dumb mini helmet replica, but it sucks that the LE doesn't come with the art book. I'm sure the EE will drop in price fast just like both of the Legendary Edition's of Halo. I'm thinking I should just buy the standard version with the $20 credit adn wait for the EE to drop in price.

After buying the MVC3 Special Edition, I don't think I'm buying one again. I mean, it's not like it's really giving you anythign that's different game wise.

MVC3 was the best special edition I've bought in terms of bang for buck. For only $10 more you got a sweet looking steelbook, comic book, two DLC characters, and a free one month subscription to Marvel Digital comics (when you sign up you can get a second month for only a $1).

i own all things Gears, so i had to go with the Epic. Even though i doubt the statue will stack up to my mindzeye studios statues or the project triforce Marcus bust.. if they ever decide to ship it..

That statue is pretty tight.

Got gears 2 today, first time playing it and man is it slow compared to the beta.... REALLY slow it started growing on me by the end of the night, although the intense fast paced shotgun battles, were lacking. Weird to say but i think i would gladly endure the occasional DBS/retro noob for the speed of gears 3.

Lolz, going from Gears 2 to Gears 1 was hard enough. I'm like, WTF? This is terrible. They do such a good job improving their games .

Actually i would prefer gears 1 over 2 myself, the main reason for the slowdown of 2 was the same reason 3 added the new weapons, cliffy Bi$$$ did and does not like what online gamers have done to his game. Ex. wall bouncing, fast paced gnasher based action etc... In attempt to stop this near the end of gears one, they greatly increased the power of the lancer, in two it remained the same but player movement was slowed(roadie walk), in three we get the lovely DBS/retro...

I plan to stick with 2 till september but i think i really don't like cliffy b, as if that name didn't give me enough reason already.
