Bayoneta 2 wii u exclusive.

First party titles on offer will be New Super Mario Bros. U and NintendoLand.

Ubisoft games Rayman Legends and ZombiU, plus EA's FIFA 13 and Mass Effect 3 were also confirmed as launch day games.

Pikmin 3 is due for release next year.

Not a great launch line up really. Black Ops 2 coming to the console will be great for Nintendo though. But what will their online environment be like?

The Wii U scored Bayonetta 2 as an exclusive. There's a major shocker.

Bayonetta 2 Announced For Wii U
SURPRISE!
by Keza MacDonald
September 13, 2012

During Nintendo's Japanese Nintendo Direct press conference this afternoon, Satoru Iwata revealed that Platinum Games is making Bayonetta 2 exclusively for the Wii U.

A teaser trailer was shown with bullets pinging off a magical blade, culminating in a shot of Bayonetta's iconic high heels. There was no word on a release date. It's being produced by Atsushi Inaba, who is also working on The Wonderful 101 (formerly Project P-100.)

Holy smokes! We'll have more - including the teaser trailer - very soon.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Has Exclusive Content
Nintendo-themed power-ups and costumes.
by Andrew Goldfarb
September 13, 2012

Namco has announced that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on Wii U will have exclusive content.

We spotted Mario, Link and Bowser costumes in the reveal trailer alongside in-stage power-ups, including the Mega Mushroom, which super-sizes combatants. It's pretty damn funny.

Man that price of over 100$ for a second controller is pretty high ...

The rest of the price seems "decent" but they better ramp up the games and exclusives. I think the Basic should be about 50$ cheaper from the start though.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate should help sales in Japan.

The box art for New Super Mario Bros U looks amazing. Some of the best box art I've seen. I just hope Nintendo won't wait too long before bringing a 3D Mario game to the console. A sequel to Super Mario Sunshine would be nice.

Mario games almost always have amazing gameplay.

I just wish they'd stop the same old s* for the story. Given what happens in games like Super Mario RPG, Super Princess Peach, and Super Paper Mario, the ONLY explanation is that she likes getting dragged off and locked up. I could actually see Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach , and all the koopa kids going to and from their places after a loud siren is blared, and all calmly saying,"see ya at work tomorrow." Like what happens in Ralph vs Sam cartoons from the old days.

If it were me writing the story for NSMBU, instead of stealing Peach, Bowser would steal the Mushroom Kingdom's Megaton Amanita Bomb and threaten to detonate and kill everyone. And Peach would be fully playable; who doesn't want to see a girl run, jump, slide, and fight...while wearing heels and an evening gown?

That's a major reason I loved Super Mario Sunshine. The story and gameplay was very different and original from the other games in the franchise.

I liked being able to control my jumping with FLUDD; Having to do without it in the "secret" stages was never easy.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. A DS3 controller for the PS3 retails at 59.99. I had no expectations of this retailing for anything under $100. And considering what it does, I think justifiably so. Another thing, there is no NEED for a second gamepad (it has already been confirmed that games will not support two, or more, gamepads, at least for the time being). Now when one of the kids breaks the gamepad...

The Wii U will launch in North America on November 18th, Europe on November 30th and on the 8th December in Japan.

It comes in two models: Basic and Premium. Basic comes with 8GB of memory, the console, a gamepad, sensor bar, HDMI cable and AC adaptor in the US, and without a sensor bar in the EU. Premium comes with 32GB of memory, console, gamepad, charging cradle and stands for the console and gamepad, and Nintendo Land.

Premium also comes with a Nintendo Network Premium Subscription, which gives you discounts on Nintendo games bought online. According to Nintendo EU's press release, it is "a reward programme that grants points for digital purchases in Nintendo eShop. Valued at around 10% of the original Nintendo eShop price, this credit can be used against future purchases once you reach a minimum of 500 points."

The price in the US is $299 for the Basic and $349 for the Premium. Nintendo never announces prices for Europe due to previous issues with the EU, so it'll be up to retailers to decide. Early listings ranged from £210 to £320. Tesco currently has it at £249 for Basic and £299 for Premium.

"Nintendo TVii" Announced
The GamePad becomes the world's most versatile TV remote.
by Lucas M. Thomas
September 13, 2012

In the wake of Nintendo's original Wii becoming such a popular device used to stream video services like Netflix, Nintendo has announced a new entertainment initiative for the new Wii U: "Nintendo TVii."

Described as a way to "Find, Watch and Engage with TV, Movies and Sports," Nintendo TVii is a wildly cross-integrated entertainment solution that will turn your Wii U GamePad into a "second screen experience" while you watch your favorite content. Miis will be used to mark off personalized favorites for different family members in the same household, while the GamePad will let you control your DVR to record shows, set favorites, tweet your reactions to live moments on TV and more.

Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video and Tivo will each be integrated. "Bringing all of your services to one place," is how President Reggie Fils-Aime describes Nintendo TVii.

Nintendo TVii is included with every Wii U purchase, with no additional fees

That's the problem I see. The core audience buying buying the U is probably going to be similar to the Wii - kids. If these controllers aren't very sturdy there will be many broken.

Any gameplay videos? I have never played a Monster Hunter game.

I am kind of glad the only launch game I'd want is Super Mario Brothers and perhaps Tekken Tag 2 (funny Nintendo extra's.. I have a PS3 so I could buy it already). $350 is a bit much for me to swallow right now, plus the games on top.

New Zelda comes around and I may be forced.. I'd love to see a resurgence of many of the SuperNES, N64 era games. Also F-Zero GX sequel.

I want that zombie game.

I must admit I am very surprised how much I like what I see from Wii U. Nothing has blown me away graphically or impressed in a technical fashion, however it certainly offers enough to keep me intrigued.

I might get one.

That $349 price point is a deal breaker for me. If the gamepad was at least multi-touch then I could maybe rationalize it... But it looks like I won't be picking this up at launch.

Not quite sure what you mean... they have it for $300.

What do you mean by multi-touch?

Well for me I'd be shocked if the 8GB is enough after owning the system for a short length of time. Granted it isn't like the practically worthless stripped "Core" 360 at launch where MS simply put it out to rake in insane cash on ridiculously overpriced HDD accessories.
