So is this release region free or not since everywhere i look it says Region A and that would be the first time a warner release is coded?
Gee whiz mredman - If you've picked up any of Warner's releases then you know they often don't list Region info on the sleeves. Just look at the back cover pictured earlier in this thread - or go here:

http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_ite...r=1&site_id=69

And as we all know the Region info on the sleeves is not always accurate anyway.

I have a second Region B 3D player and diligently post Region info to this thread:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/3d-blu-ray...-releases.html

- but I'm not picking this one up til the price comes down.

Why do you think it's Region A locked? Were the previous Blu-ray releases of Journey locked?

Because this sites review says it is Region A and planetaxel also has it at A. Thats why. But it seems they have not tested it. But it still seems odd to that for a warner title.

So it went from getting this on the 8th to basically 5 days later. The brick and mortar stores have got to step their game up to compete with this kind of service....and I'm not a prime member, I always get the free shipping option.

I'm going to watch it this weekend.
I have to agree. Their customer service is tops.
So this movie is still on my buy list for this year. Just waiting for it to drop in price a bit. 24.99 sounds reasonable. 19.99 even better.

At Best Buy today, The Green Hornet 3D Blu Ray is on sale for 19.99. They only had two in stock. I liked the movie, but never saw it in 3D.

Best line in this movie: "I have no idea what this thing is" (as he picks up the antique stereographic viewer).

Anyone know why this one is so high? It's a catalog title and yet it costs more than most of the new releases. I already have the anaglyph 3D version, so I don't want to spent another $32 to $35 to get the upgraded version.

I've said it before, but after viewing this again last night, have to say it again... THIS is my reference quality 3D demo disc from now on.

The quality of the 3D imagery in this one is outstanding. Take a look at the early scenes in the mine shafts. Althought not a great deal is going on, the 3D is absolutely excellent... the cavern walls recessing excessively far back into the screen.

I agree. I'm surprised more people don't comment on this movie. Also, the review wasn't that great. But i own most of the 3D blu rays out there right now, and for realism, depth, and 3D pop, this one is by far the best. Avatar is up there too, same with transformers 3, but both have little to no 3D pop.

I also agree. I just finished watching it last night and I loved it. Reminded me of the Captain EO at Disneyland with all the little pixie flying across the screen as if I can reach out and grab it. They used "pop out" gimmick pretty well in this one. I saw the red/blue 3D one years ago at 2 in the morning and I remember liking that as well but got annoyed toward the end when there were a lot more "red" on the screen than I would like, distorting the 3D. Man, it was awesome seeing it in REAL 3D.

If you think Journey to the center of the earth looks incredible wait till you see Journey 2, Opening sequence is a pov shot straight down the eye of a hurricane! 65 mins latter Vanessa Hudgens very cute ass really in your face as she climbs out of a cavernous hole in the ground, Not to mention Captain Nemo's Nautilus swimming through the ocean in 3D just a few of the very cool 3D visuals in the film. We hosted the premiere on thursday night, cant wait to see it again!!

I have the original version they released and liked it well enough. I've heard good things about the 3D re-release, but I'm waiting until it's a reasonable price. You'd think that would be right now with the sequel coming out...maybe the week of release they'll lower it for marketing hype.

Sweet! I was going to wait for the French Region 2 version, since there is still no UK release date, but will just get this instead then, though not the cheapest disc in the world!

This is sounding great for the 3D and action based on the comments.

Journey 2 looks goofy, but if the 3D is great, I'll check it out day 1, and hold off on Star Wars 3D for the next week and flip a coin with Ghost Rider 2 3D...

Journey 2 was alot of fun, if you liked the 1st one you will really enjoy it, as i said above the 3D is great and there are some awesome 3D visuals such as the POV shot traveling down through and into the eye wall of a hurricane, The Nautilus sequence at the end of the film, the Volcanic Gold Ash falling from the sky, the bumblebee flight/bird chase sequence is also very cool,And the end shot of the movie which is Definately sequel baiting Journey 3(and hopefully sees Brendan Fraiser returning schedule permiting), and the afformentioned 3D shot of Vanessa's ass close up lol (sorry i am not even normally a fan of hers but wow even through those "adventure" shorts lol)

There is great use of Depth and some very awesome pop out sequences.

I would say definately see Journey day 1 and if you have the money double it up with Phantom Menace 3D as well.
Its a shame Brendan Fraiser's schedule prevented him from being in Journey 2 and I wish they would have atleast made mention of his character, but you can tell both The Rock and Michael Caine along with Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens had a lot of fun making the movie.

I've actually seen it already It opened in Australia a couple of weeks ago. To be honest, I was a little underwhelmed with the 3D in it. But having said that, I think the bulb on the projector at the cinema was dying - it kept flickering throughout the whole movie. So I'll wait for home viewing before I make my final judgment Movie was a lot of fun though.

You guys are lucky. It won't be out here till next week. Along with Star Wars 3D, which looks like it has sort of decent 3D.

Thanks for the reviews on the film and 3D for Journey 2. Yeah, Fraser is pretty good in these adventure roles.
