They're going to have to strike while the iron is hot. There's a window for it to be made within the next few years, I'd hate to see the actors look older being that it takes off right after - especially since David is an android.

But hey! They made 'Star Trek Into Darkness' (4 years later) & 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' (8 years later) so it's possible.

Default Ridley Scott Location Scouting Report..

Ridley Scott has been location scouting in GRAND CANARIA he did not give much info away about the film he said it was Confidential but he promised that it would be a "BIG ONE".

He said it takes place in natural settings with big mountains, big rocks and deserts...He said that he liked some of the locations and he will return he also states that he will have to BUILD MANY GREAT THINGS, CAUSE THAT'S WHAT HE DOES..

Could Ridley be Location scouting for the Prometheus Sequel or something else entirely???

Perhaps it is for Exodus? His Moses film with Christian Bale?

I've seen it twice now and its good. I'll just be pissed if he continues to string alone alien fans, just so he can have a respectable box office number. Lets face it this movie doesn't do near the money it did if they weren't pumping the engineer at us.

PROMETHEUS painted them into a narrative corner that's going to take some smart-thinking to get out of. Scott's eager to atone for the first one, I'm sure, and make it look like it was all intentional; but he's getting old, and he's got about seven or eight projects that are further down the road. Fox, for their part, will want something much more commercial this time round before they lay out the budget. My instinct is still that it won't happen but I could be wrong.
Hate to say I told you so. But I told you so...

Just because its stalled now doesn't mean there won't be one later...I mean, come on, look at things like 'Indy 4', that were in development for years before they finally happened. It could still happen, and i would rather they take their time then rush it anyway.

Honestly, some fans are partially to blame because they personably attacked Lindelof online, and I can't blame him for not wanting to come back after that. No matter how many holes the script had, the way some people treated him was uncalled for.

Also, as many of the articles I've read, including the one you linked, states that the studio is still hearing pitches for the film. Meaning they're actively development, even if its stalled at this point. Time will tell if we get it or not. But it's not really dead, yet, because Fox will make it happen one way or another, it seems. They think it's viable.

I'm not saying it definitely won't happen. I'm responding to the people who think it definitely will - or even that it is already well underway.

I know how Hollywood works and I lay the blame for PROMETHEUS squarely at Ridley Scott's door. Lindelof can shoulder some blame, sure, but it's bull to suggest that he's not coming back becasue fo fan reactions. He's not coming back either because he actually had a crappy time working with Scott and is rather ashamed of PROMETHEUS, or he's not coming back because Fox and Scott have decided to make him the scapegoat for the film's failure.

The fact remains that PROMETHEUS left us with Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender's head flying off to the Engineer planet to find out "the answers" to all the idiot questions that the first film raised. I certainly have no idea how you make a (profitable, satisfying) movie out of that.

The first film didn't make that much money that Fox will make a sequel without Scott's involvement. The Engineers aren't exactly one of the great movie monsters, so they can't even make crappy spin-offs like the AVP series. I'd still put money on this not happening.

I may sound stupid asking this but what were some of the problems people had with Prometheus? What were some of the problems with the story? I personally enjoyed it and would gladly watch a sequel.

I really don't care if they make a sequel. Prometheus was a giant kick in the nuts as far as film disappointments go for me but if they were to make a sequel so amazing that it somehow made the first film better than I will go.

I just found out that I gave Prometheus a 5/5 rating in the reviews thread. I must have been off my medication.

I still don't understand what these plot holes are. Stupid characters doing annoyingly stupid things, sure, it doesn't bother me but I get that, but I still don't get these plot holes people talk about.

I loved Prometheus. A sequel would immediately go towards the top of a most anticipated future movie list for me.

I suggest you google "prometheus plot holes" and make your way through a few of the thousands of blogs, posts and videos on the subject.

First off...no where in that article does it say that the are not going to do this movie....
They are looking for a story...trust me they will have a writer soon...NOT A YEAR DOWN THE ROAD AS SOME PEOPLE ASSUME..

This movie will happen...the only problem is for some is...Will they be able to understand it...like they couldn't with the first..
