Pretty absurd to see a SD-only release in 2013- if you're taking the time and money to create the ostensibly definitive overview of an iconic franchise, why wouldn't you want it to have optimal image quality?

2. The combo pack will contain a single Blu-ray disc containing the full documentary. The full documentary will also be included on two DVDs (split into two parts due to space limitations of the DVD format).

3. The bonus DVD (available exclusively via crystallakememories.net and the official launch event at Dark Delicacies) will contain approximately 4 hours of extended interviews and featurettes that were not included in the documentary.

4. All discs will be zone and region free and should be viewable on any Blu-ray or DVD player around the world.

5. International shipping will be available via crystallakememories.net; cost to be determined based on current shipping rates to individual countries.

6. Money orders will be accepted.

More details will be available once the official site launches for our pre-sale on July 8th.

Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and patience. We are looking forward to bringing you this epic look back at the legacy of Jason Voorhees and FRIDAY THE 13TH!

Over 7 hours on 1BD? That sounds pretty tight. I understand a lot of the stuff is probably upscaled and won't consume as much space, and the PQ doesn't need to be Lawrence of Arabia PQ, but wow...I hope it doesn't suffer.

Any chance you can breakdown the bonus disc. For me, not being on BD is an instant turnoff, so perhaps getting a better understanding of it would entice me to order direct vs. Amazon.

There's no way I'm spending $30 for an upscale - won't the BD (of SD material) look identical to the upscaled DVD? I'll just download it and save my money. I'm through buying DVDs, especially ones that cost $30. Pass.

For 11 hours of content, I can handle paying $30, but since the films are presumably talked about individually, I agree there's no reason they couldn't have done two BDs, five films on each BD, and done 1080p.

While the ideal situation would have been (at least) two BD-50 for the feature documentary and then the bonus disc (preferably also a BD), the format of this release is not going to keep me from buying it. Never Sleep Again was only available on DVD, and I was happy to buy that and spend many hours watching its discs (I even bought it again to get the SE audio commentary, which I listened to), and while I'm nowhere near as big a fan of the Friday the 13th series, I expect this documentary will increase my appreciation for all of the films.

Also, pure speculation, but I wouldn't count Kevin Bacon out for this. The makers have conformed every other pass for this documentary on Facebook, but when Bacon is mentioned, they don't answer.

I remember them saying they did snag a HUGE name but then they never posted about it again. I felt it was Bacon, cause getting Crispin to do an interview was probably not going to happen...he's just weird like that.

I thought they'd find more of the original cast since most of them have been found around New York and all.

This might be of interest to you...

Its region locked, but I have my 1080p version of it on my media server right now and it's substantially better then the DVD release. It's still just a documentary, and mostly of people chatting so whether this needs to be seen in 1080p is up for debate, but if you really want it in HD it is available presuming you the means of playing/watching the content.

I'm looking forward to the Crystal Lake documentary as well. I've never been a huge Friday the 13th Fan, but documentary's like these get me excited about the film franchise as a whole and are just so much fun to watch.

I believe you are correct... However my point was that the film was available in HD, and certainly looked better then the standard definition DVD available in the US. My media server copy is actually in 720p anyways to cut down on the file size (still close to 8gb though after encoding).

Pre-orders go live on July 8th on the official site. You have to order directly from http://crystallakememories.net/ in order to get the extra disk if my memory serves correct. Right now they have a placeholder page on the site with a countdown clock, the pre-order and official release date, and a coming soon sign.

They said you could get the disc by ordering one through the Dark Delicacies event too...plus it'd be autographed by a ton of cast & crew too.

You can now pre-order the autographed copy from Dark Delicacies. Click on 'Signings/Events' and then scroll down. Has it been confirmed that the bonus disc won't be included in the autographed version? I'll send an email to DD.

Yes, it will be included:

No reason not to order it from DD if the price is identical then.

Real Friday fans would pay 100 dollars for this, 30 dollars is a total bargain, it should have been 50 dollars at least.

So for $29.99 I can preorder an autographed copy? That's pretty cool.
Is it known who will be signing these?

I'm a real Friday fan and I wouldn't pay $100. Why should it of been $50?
